First let me say this is a horrible way to ask questions, you can't tell the answered questions from the unanswered and the answers. But hey, it's not like I have a better idea!

Anyway, the Thunderbolt is coming out reeeaaalllllll soon, and I am definitely gonna get it IF I CAN.

I have an upgrade available on my primary line, but new every two (according to My Verizon) is about 18 months away (I just upgraded to the Dinc but through a weird series of events the contract on that line was removed... hooray!).

So I do I get that "last $100 rebate" or does that only apply to new every two?

And can I use my friend's upgrade (which is eligable for new every two) and he just give me the Thunderbolt when it gets in the mail?

The ne2 only applys when or afer the 20 months come up. If your friend wants to use his upgrade to get you the Tb that will work but you wont get warranty threw verizon (asuming hes on a diffrent account) he will be signing a 2 year contract but then you can return the favor.

Yeah he isn't into phones like we all are. He's content with a blackberry probably for years to come haha thanks!

Hey guys I have a question upgrades. Last February I used an upgrade on my primary line and then in Sept I used the secondary line to get a Droid X. I called last week to get some info about the TB and the rep I spoke with said I would be good to go on the TB after 2/22/11 but that it would be the last yearly upgrade I would receive. Today I called again and was told this was not true, the women I spoke to seemed to be new, and she said that because VW is getting rid of that program I would not be able to upgrade to the TB at the 2 year price.

I was just wondering who is correct.

Thanks,

Brendnan

I have also heard the new every two is being modified but the mod is there will be no interim ( 12 or 20 month ) upgrades - strictly just a 24 month discount but verify with Verizon. BTW have u checked cellularphonedeals? My new Droid x was 39 bucks and change w/my NE2 upgrade. It is new, not an FRU or blemished item. Hope this helps. Regards, Ed S.

Having problems connecting to OTA and receiving text

Droid Eris cannot connect to OTA. when I dial *228, when the music comes on it doesn't recognize me pushing 1 or 2, finally will hang up on me. *22899 will start programming for about 4 seconds then my phone will end the call and it says failed. I have been unable to receive text for 10 days. I have been on the phone with verizon tech support a couple of time and they aren't helping. When I send a message online using verizon web. it says accepted by network and never sends the message to my phone though, therefore it is 100% on verizon side problem. How can I fix?

Call verizon.

Also, it isn't necessarily a problem on the network side, it could be your device.

Either way, call verizon.

Change phone number on a rooted OG Droid

Hello,

Sorry if this isn't the right thread to ask this, but I have searched multiple times throughout the forums and couldn't find the answer to this question.

I have an original Motorola Droid 1, it is rooted and running Sourcery 1.3. I have recently moved to a different state and I need to change my phone number to a local area code. Will there be a problem if I go online to my account on the verizon website and change the number there? Basically I am worried that the phone being rooted will cause an issue with changing my number, either alerting Verizon that my phone is rooted, or possibly breaking the phone when they reprogram the phone with the new number.

If anyone has any information that could help enlighten me I would appreciate it. Thank you.

Loki

You will be absolutely fine.

The only thing I would recommend is do the number change on the first day of your bill cycle to avoid prorating your minutes.

They ported my D1 line over to my X hassle-free. D1 was running Sapphire/Incognito. Had to show the rep how to unlock it.

Ok...so here's my dilema...20 days ago I let the rep who was upgrading my mom and dad talk me into the galaxy tab...well now I'm mad cause I could. Have gotten the xoom for $100 more! Am I SOL or can I complain enough to get my money back for tab to get xoom?

I feel like he bullied me into it...

The return policy is 14 days. You might be able to sign a contract and get $200 off your purchase though. Otherwise, you can sell the Galaxy Tab and buy a Xoom.
