Can't get the search feature in PIE to work. New build with a clean flash.

Any help? Or an I the only one?

Buttons are tied to nav buttons now. Did you enable search in the nav bar buttons?

It doesn't look like search is an option available for CM pie in this build. I don't remember if it was there in the 4-1 build. I don't really use search from pie. The CM pie isn't quite at the level where the PA pie is yet.

Edit: looks like Buck beat me to an answer. His was better anyway.

Is AD2P enabled on this rom? Running the latest build just installed blue tooth enable radio that support meta data and It net getting any data. I can skip songs so AVRCP is working but no meta data. I've tried multiple music apps poweramp and play music.

Edit: Looks like i don't know completly what I'm asking for (was reading my pioneer manual). Here is what I think I'm asking for from another post. does this sound correct?

Yeah, the skip/previous functionality is wonderful :-D

AVRCP 1.0 - play/stop/next/previous <---as far as I know, we're here

AVRCP 1.3 - play/stop/next/previous + metadata (track info) <---would love to get here!!

AVRCP 1.4 adds multimedia browsing support <---profit??

I'll look into it. No promises though. Are there other ROMs you've used that do have it?

I had it on my Pioneer as well on CM 10, then after going to CM 10.1 my BT enabled Pioneer stereo says No Audio Data whereas before it told me track names and the like from Google Music. The music plays, and I can skip, but no track meta.

I did some digging and it appears the avrcp 1.3 hasn't been ported to the new broad com Bluetooth stack that android uses in 4.2+. It also looks like a lot of it will have to be rewritten for it to work because of this. Not a simple port by any means if it even can be. A complete rewrite might be what has to happen.

Ah well thanks for looking. Id hate to have to go to an older rom just for this feature. Guess I'll just wait. Surely someone or android will get it added back in.

Thank you so much Buck. I've been communicating with members of CM about this for months and got nowhere. You have a definitive answer very quickly and were nice about looking it up; this level is service it's why I switched to PE.

Totally agree!

Buck, regarding my post a couple pages back about background apps closing, I think I found a solution. Your kernel seemed to help somewhat but it still occurred periodically, especially with Pandora in background, would close using Facebook or android browser. I used pimp my ROM to change OOM Groupings and Minfree values to low and used BladeBuddy to change davlik.vm.heapsize from 256M to 192M. I know there are more direct ways to do this but I didn't have time to go thru .prop files and such. Seems to have helped a lot. Thanks for all you do!

You guys are very welcome. I appreciate the compliments very much.

Jpbeard: what build are you on? 4-3 build has VM changes in it.

Wow I'm still on 3-22 lol. I started downloading the 4-3 build but it switched from WiFi to mobile data in middle of DL, just gotta do it again once I get home. This ROM is just so smooth and stable, not much need to flash but I'll definitely give er a go in a lil bit.
