What have YOU done with Tasker?

Thanks Neb...but it doesn't include the steps...as what to menu option to click (State, event, etc...what task, etc...) Thanks again

I'll write this up later this afternoon when I have a chance here at work. (which I will have since most everything I do is automated)

Thanks Neb...I really appreciate it!

New - Name it Docked - State - Docked - Select your type of Dock - Done - New Task - Ok - + - Display - Auot Brightness - Done - + - Display - Display Brightness - Select the level of brightness (higher is brighter) - Done - Done

Add an exit task - New Task - Ok - + - Display - Auto Brightness - On - Done Done - Apply

AHHH! I was forgetting the the Display Brightness Task! That's why I couldn't get it to work! I'll test it when I get home from work tonight! Thanks Neb!

I want to create a Tasker widget that simply pops up a dialog box and allows me to enter text (in this case, a task I had just completed or was working on) and stores it in a Google Calendar to provide a very quick journaling app.

I don't think I can do this with Tasker due to the lack of a popup edit box, but I think I could send a text to my Google Voice number (which I will receive on my phone) then use Apps->Calendar Insert to store the body of the text (which would be my item to journal) to the Calendar.

Going to try setting up the text idea as an exercise, but am I missing something that could do this easier?

This will work if you are having your google voice texts forwarded to your regular cell number, otherwise there is no way for Tasker to recognize the text as received. However I know a way you can dictate to the phone your message and have that dictation load into calendar. Its not extremely accurate (it uses google voice recognition) and it needs a data connection but it should work.

You could also find a small notepad app, write your note, then select all the text and copy it then click a tasker widget to take that and add it via calendar insert.

Autorespond to phonecall with sms

Hi

I'm new to this forum, but I tried to search for an answer, but it seems like no1 has the need to the following.
When my phone is autosilenced in meetings (based on my googlecalendar), I'd like it to autorespond to any incoming phonecall with an sms saying something like "I'm occupied for the moment, I'll call you back ASAP".

But I have no clue how to do this in tasker. The only thing I found even near this is to use the "missed call event", but it has to be when it's silenced.

I tried to modify this, but it ended up sending an sms to the last recieved phonecall, which was 5 hours ago.

Help would be appreciated.

Hmm, interesting. But how do I combine them? It has to function under the condition that the phone is (auto)silenced by a meeting entry in google.

2 changes
Change this line:"+" - Alert - Popup Task Names - Task (Long Click) - Autotext - Task (Long Click) - Stop - Done - Done

To:"+" - Tasker - Run Task - Autotext - Done

Change this line: Add another context - Event - Hardware - Button: Long Search - Priority: Highest

to:
Add another context - State - Calendar Event - Fill out the information for your meeting (keeping it generic like at title *meeting*) - Priority Highest.

Does anyone have a simple profile that will notify me ever 2 minutes with a notification sound, of missed calls?

Does anyone have a simple profile that will notify me ever 2 minutes with a notification sound, of missed calls?

Do you want the sound to stop when you clear the notification?

Yes. I am on call daily for work, and when they call, I need to call them back in 20 minutes. But if my phone is on ring, and I dont hear it, I never know to go look to see if I have a missed call.

Ok give me a few minutes, I'll see what I can do.

Ok I got it making the sound. But I can't get tasker to notice when I click on the notification. I'll keep working on it and let you know.
