What have YOU done with Tasker?

How should I upload my profiles? Just copy the Tasker folder from my sdcard and upload that?

You can export individual profiles. They will then be .xml files that you can upload. Just click the profile then click the crossed tools icon and choose export.

gotcha here you go:

Ok I will take a look at them during my lunch break. If I see nothing I won't be able to test them till tomorrow morning when I leave for work.

No Prob. thanks Nebula:)

Ok So I found two issues
First: In your connected profile enter task (the green arrow) you are missing this
"+" - Variable - Variable Set %WIFIC to 1 - Done

In your wifi off profile you are missing this on the enter task
"+" - Tasker - Wait Until - %WIFIC = 0 and 1 minute - Done

Both should be the first things the profiles do.

What I think is happening is that the wifi off triggers and the wifi on somehow executes again before the wifi off finishes sothings get confused and your wifi stays on. With this timer and variable above, that should clear up.

Let me know if you get to test this before I do and what happenes

Thanks for taking a look, I made the changes and will test the next time I leave the house and report back.

Btw is this most updated wiki for your profiles? I was using this one for Wifi. Low Battery Usage Wifi Enableing Profile Using Wifi Near - Tasker Wiki Obviously I had some things wrong

Thanks again Nebula.

The most up to date is the wiki. The changes in wifi off I am still testing. I will update the wiki if this works for you.

Hi all. New to the forum, I had to join to say thanks for the ideas and profiles to all. Nebula, big thanks- Your low battery wifi setup works perfectly for me; I have it set for home, work and GF's. I have just started playing around with tasker some on my own outside of just following other peoples programming ha ha.

One I put together for when I am on the phone with an automated call (like voicemail or cable company):

Profile: Phone Call Screen On
First Context: Gesture, (recorded from holding phone next to ear while upright for first point to holding phone in front of me for second point)-
---add task- screen on

Add context to Gesture: Variable Value-%INCALL OP-matches Value-1.

No exit task

So basically, while on the phone if I move the phone from my ear to in front of me (to input voicemail password or enter account numbers etc) the screen comes on without having to touch anything else. Kinda dumb, but it helped me figure some Tasker stuff out. See you all around and thanks again.

I have tried several times to make a simple one that just sets my phone to vibrate when I am at work. I have been able to do this, but it won't set back to my ringer when I leave work. I can't figure it out. Phone will go into quiet mode once up get to work, but stays that way when I leave. Can someone post a step by step on how to do this?

Do you have an exit task?

K, Nebula I tested your wifi off by leaving my house today. It took over 15 min of me being disconnected from my network and still in my cell near zone before the wifi on profile kicked off!

Are we making this off profile too difficult? Shouldn't the wifi on profile just turn off and stay off until it's wifi near again within a minute of being disconnected from home network, leaving just the home profile on?

It seems to me that in the wifi off profile if we just had the: wait 1 minute until %WIFIC=0, the Wifi set off and the profile status wifi on set off. It would work.

Maybe I'm way off, you are the expert.

Not sure what an exit task is or how to set one up. Could someone post a step by step on how to do this? This way I can learn from it.

Just tap on the green arrow in the profile and click add exit task. Then set it for what you want to do when you exit that profile.

Btw, love the Avatar! GO SOX!
