I love how they call it a "Device" what does that mean I can do with it? My main goal is to transmit digital to anolog that is why they are cleared though the FCC right? I want to transmit a radio station ( pirate) through my phone is that a possibility?

Make us wonder that a trademark infringement is in suit due to the broad range in market

Make us wonder about what? Everything I have read was that this would be for all computers, just Apple is the first to implement in their computers. The others will follow in short order if it flies.

Let us be more specific about apple gripes and gripes in general. I don't have a problem with iphone on VerizonWireless. What I have a problem with is apple intell Thunderbolt™ technology encroaching on our Thunderbolt release. With that said I know it annoys a few posters. I can only speculate as to weather or not apple is trying to turn android followers to their darkside of android IOS. Who has turned? The bottom line is where is your loyalty? Is it Google or Apple? Untill an alliance is formed we android followers are all of the rebel alliance and Apple IS THE DARK SIDE. So the Thunderbolt debate continues but if you are going to flame can u please not bring up a date, a mod, or the iphone, because that is TOTALLY OFF TOPIC DUDES. Be specific it will help us all in the Android Wars

I believe the Thunderbolt was all Intel's doing on name but I'll look. Either way, it is technology not even remotely associated with the phone as far as its purpose. Beyond that, all's fair in love and war. If HTC, Motorola, Verizon, whoever want to survive, they might want to learn how to up their game. Business isn't going to get any easier in the near future.

I think with smartphone's capabilities to connect to laptops via cable interfaces there is enough association to file a lawsuit.

I can name one; iPhone 4....

You must be joking one year old iPhone don't come close

You must be blinded by fanaticism. Tell me how the iPhone 4 doesn't come close? Please... I'd love to hear a reasonable explanation.

I know its all going to be "you can customize" Android, which is true, but in no way sets it apart from iOS. With a jailbreak you can do ANYTHING a rooted Android device can. I'm not going to go over the FACT that iOS is more optimized than Android again, since that fact falls on deaf ears.

Panda's reporting that TB's LTE eats through the batteries in no time flat?!!?!? Sounds like every other HTC phone...

I'm done with this thread. Noone here is reasonable, your biases are RIDICULOUS unless you own shares of HTC or Google. Enjoy your 2 hours of speed and 3 spare batteries. My Droid can make it a day without charging, and my iPhone 4 can make it 2 days without touching the charger... I'm sure my iPhone 5 will make it atleast a day with its dual-cores AND LTE. (iP5 specs will be revealed Wednesday with the iPad 2 announcement)

Your kidding my faanboyism and it has nothing about customizing android you know what I'm not even going to into it with you because all you do in every thread I see yiou in is say how mucbh better apple isetc if you like apple go to theiir forum UNCyou are a fanboy of apple and it gets annoying every thread you step into

Let's be nice you too. It's just a thread on a forum. And it's just opinions. Get over it. Please don't get this thread closed too. :[

It's understood that everyone is frustrated about the delay with the TB but this thread needs to stay on topic, if you want to discuss the iphone pros and cons then go to non android smart phones and start a thread - but this thread is about the Thunderbolt and a purchase date, let's all keep it that way

Sorry for untopicness but this needs to be addressed...

Congrats on getting super mod! *confetti*

I am surprised if the TB has battery issues that bad.

I mean come on, battery life is known in the design phase and is verified and tested very early on in development by HTC.

Also the Snapdragon in the TB uses the 45nm manufacturing process (called "2nd gen") as opposed to the earlier (also identical 1GHz clock speed) chip in the Evo 4G CPU. The EVO 4G CPU also a Snapdragon is made using a 65nm process and is labeled "1st gen".

Comparing equivalent Snapdragons in that entire line up of chips between the 45/65 process, Qualcomm stated that change provides a 30% lower dynamic power consumption and a much lower standby power as well. The battery capacity reduction from Evo 4G to Thunderbolt is only about 7%. This should guarantee an overall longer times between charges with the TB (of course under identical use). Adding an aftermarket higher capacity battery of course would also help. Now that being said the Evo 4G battery life is pretty bad.

BB also published a talk time for the TB at 6.3h, see below. Now that being said the reliability of anything on the TB from BB is questionable...

I feel like the mods on this board are so uptight - who cares if it goes off topic, really?? It's like a complex to have power or something.

OK everyone, don't turn this into an iPhone, Thunderbolt debate. That constitutes off track. It's Friday night. Everyone should really settle back, enjoy your families and friends and take a break for a bit. Nothing said here is going to get the phone here any faster.

And no, this doesn't mean I'm locking the thread. I'm just encouraging everyone to take a break. The thread will be here when you come back.

I agree. One of the two iPhone fanboys has been banned. The other is still here. Easy to spot, he glorifies the iPhone4 in every post.

anyone else feel like this month.... is THE LONGEST month you've ever lived because of this damn phone...
i know its just a phone but i really cant stop myself from checking this thread whenever i have time available

anyone else hope that this delay will result in HTC deciding to upgrade this phone's battery?
