While we wait ....

Yeah. I don't care about unlocking or rooting or anything at this point. Maybe I'll start tinkering down the road, but I've been running as many Google apps as I can on my Note 4. GN launcher, Google Keyboard. I was using Photos until I had enough of it not being able to do anything with pictures on the SD card due to out-dated permissions.

I'll update for sure, but I'm not planning on pushing any of the updates manually. They'll come soon enough and well before any other phone in the house gets the same updates.

I'm actually getting to a point where I'm almost more interested to see if the Note 4 sticks for the wife. She's been open to giving it a try this whole time, but the other day she said she's really considering it and thinking she'll like it. We'll see how long that lasts since my old S4 that she currently has barely fits in her pockets, but I know she'll be happier with the storage space on it if nothing else. Performance should keep her happy for a while too though.

Only reason for rooting would be for adaway. I forgot how many there were. It won't happen until I get root cloak from xposed, which is still under 6.o development. I can't be rooted and use my work email on my phone.

I don't mind the ads. If a site has too many, I just don't go there anymore. No more money for you from me viewing your site.

Other than that, I just scroll quickly past and/or ignore them.

If I root with this phone, it'll just be to tinker around and play like I used to. Most of the things I used to root for either aren't a problem anymore or have been added to the stock experience.

UGH When was the last time you looked at DF on a webview? I get a ton of ads. Currently 11 blocked right now.

I use webview at least a couple times a day. Doing Moderator stuff, some is more simple on Tapatalk, but other things are WAY easier in webview. That said, I'm not sure if there are separate adsense settings for staff. That's above my (no)pay grade.

There are other sites I have a harder time with. Can't remember if it's Android Central or Android Authority, but one of them loads so slow and then they've got some new ads that you have to keep scrolling to get the ad to disappear so that you can continue reading the article. That sucks. More often than not, I close the browser when that happens.

I figure that content creators deserve to make their money when I enjoy the content and the ads aren't overwhelming.

There's advertising everywhere, so I just ignore it. I do like to DVR most of my shows though so I can skip those ads.

Only funny because on one hand I agree they deserve to be able to make a living for providing content, yet the method is so annoying we can't abide letting them make their $$$ (I DVR everything too!)

Their review videos are pretty nice, but I'm not so certain that I've ever read any of their articles. Especially since I finally realized that I was mixing them up.
