Who is going to...[Re-Revisited]-Vending.apk

What I was getting at is that we all need to log which markets members had and which version they flashed to and is causing FC's... maybe we'll see a pattern.

I'm not sure if this is helpful, but I tried Darkside, TruBlue and mojo's BnB style Vending.apk (both versions, before and after the fix) and I didn't have a single problem or FC with any of them.

And all flashed over each other starting from stock 2.2.6?

Yes, exactly -- I had already installed the stock version of 2.2.6 that I found at xda, before I started trying them -- and then I just flashed one over the next, installing something with each one to test it.

I should note that I did have a problem that I created with Darkside -- I ran a zipalign script on my Droid after I installed it and then it completely stopped working, and the other 2.2.6 themed versions I tried to flash after that also wouldn't work. So I reinstalled the old version of the Market, reflashed the stock 2.2.6, zipaligned each of the themed market apks using a zipalign.bat script on my PC, and then they each worked great.

Well that most likely rules out issues with the -v4 drawable folder names, since atleast one of the themes you mentioned has the -v4, whereas mine doesn't... so those can flash over each other it appears..

The one thing to note is that some of the inverted versions are named vending.apk and some Vending.apk -- so I make sure to check the zip file and change it to Vending.apk, so it replaces the already-installed version (I had one issue where a lower case version didn't seem to install, and my already-installed version started FCing, because I had both vending.apk and Vending.apk in /system/app). In that case, I deleted the lower-case version, renamed the apk in the zip file, and reinstalled and it was fine.

I installed Dark Side over the old vending.apk (which was FC'ing) using SPRecovery and have had not one single FC since! Takes a bit to load up but its been flawless! Excellent work to ALL who chipped in on this!!

DroidForums junkie!!

Now that you mention it I see that as well, you may be onto something... blackmarket version is vending...

I dont think the name of the apk matters much. ive installed cytown phone as both phone.apk and cytown.apk and same goes for contacts

I agree that the name doesn't matter, except where you're trying to replace another version of the app with different case.

It matters hugely when you are trying to overwrite the same app...... to show this I am posting this screenshot showing the blackmarket vending.apk, with my TruBlue Vending.apk installed over it.... the blackmarket app is still the market that's running, but the TruBlue market (Vending) is not running or showing despite it installing... so both are now installed with only one acknowledged by the OS...

Guys, I just dl'd my Darkside.zip and it had Vending with a capital "V", and I agree with MBK, if you load an app that is not completely the same name it will load in along with the other app not install over it...

One thing I did notice in the Peppermint theme was that there is a "lib" folder that has files for the keyboard app? I am not sure but I don't think that they are supposed to be in there?
