Wireless Moot

Phew!!! After reading through around 130 pages, I'm finally caught up.

As I understand it:
1. There is a shortage of bacon.
2. .246 will almost certainly be the OTA.
3. Or is it .247....NO! Damn unicorn.
4. Intel > AMD
5. A. VZW makes people angry.
B. VZW will allow moto to control all updates for a flagship phone!
C. VZW will not charge extra monthly for dev phones!
D. Bigger fines for a VZW delay on OTA updates.
6. SamuriHL is getting crazy fast video conversions. I am really jealous. My conversions avg 2 hours.
7. There is now a thread for user name origins.
8. The HOB will you unf*** your phone on the later leaks in nearly every situation. Ask SgtMjrD...he bricked two phones in a half hour and for kicks bricked a third one.
9. Also, a bra serves as a secondary phone holder for women.

Seems like over that hundred pages I might have picked up more....oh well.

Awesome summation and thanks I forgot about his conversion time.

If you just install 246 and you screw up your phone, what do you do then? Pray that you can get the HoB to work while panicking with a bricked phone? Not a good idea.

Sorry for my stupid questions just want to make sure I make the right decision, if I decide to do anything.

If I use the sdcard-ext method then it is really no different than waiting for OTA to push to my phone and install, what happens if that screws up my phone? From that point can I still do a recovery back to .905, I understand I can't once I have fully installed .246 but what happens if something gets screwed up during the upgrade. I assume this could happen regardless if I did it via HOB, sdcard-ext or OTA.

Sounding very promising considering what you've been going through!

Sent from my. 246 ICS leaked BIONIC

So far!

Okay, so RSD suddenly closed out. I wasn't watching it. The phone remained in AP Fastboot and, in accordance with the HoB instructions, I left it in AP Fastboot and continued. It asked me if I wanted to root the phone, I said yes, and then hit enter. It appears to be stuck in AP Fastboot, and the script is saying "Waiting for device..." with the daemon started successfully. It's not doing anything right now.

<---- Just shaking head. You have failed this thread after .235 or higher no going back to 905. Period, end of story, ThE END.

If something happens to your phone in the middle of an update, kiss it goodbye. That's true regardless of how it's installed. There's a reason there's so many assertions BEFORE it starts to install. To my knowledge, unless you do something stupid like pulling the battery in the middle of the update process, no one's ever had a problem like what you describe.

Um, you completely skipped a step. Like, say, the one that tells you from AP Fastboot you shut off the phone, boot into recovery, and install the update, wipe the cache, and reboot the phone. How in the name of bloody hell can people still be skipping steps when I freaking made it a goddamn wizard?????

Whoa, whoa, whoa. I thought that was my option IF I wanted to do it manually! No worries. Can I simply restart the process and do it again?

Then you failed to read the HoB OP. THIS is where I get pissed cause I've dealt with this VERY GODDAMN ISSUE 100+ times. I'm sorry but you really have no idea how much this exact issue frustrates the living hell out of me. To the point where I rewrote the entire script to *NOT* have people making assumptions like that.

What the House of Bionic is NOT

o) A replacement for knowledge on how to modify your phone. I.E. This is not a script for "n00bs" to bypass learning the process.
o) Will NOT apply the update in recovery for you...that is, and will always be, a manual process. Follow the menus!
o) Will NOT work if you skip steps that you think "aren't necessary".
o) Will NOT work if you don't READ AND LEARN *BEFORE* doing!

Is that what I need to do to my OP? ARGGGGGGHHHHHHHH.
