I honestly have no idea. I don't really understand why USB3 on windows doesn't work but I'm guessing it's some driver issue. You can try it. No promises. I'm prepping the readme for the linux version as we speak.

Sam - I would speculate that since the Bionic is USB 2 then connecting it to USB 3 PC port would require an autonegotiation sequence - like when plugging a 100Mbit Ethernet device into a 1Gbit port. I further speculate that for some reason autonegotiation is failing. If you could detect the USB 3 port and immediately force it to USB 2, it may work. Then again, the user should just use a USB 2 port.

That's all driver stuff. I can't do anything about it unfortunately. It should be backwards compatible with USB 2 devices, but, in the case of the Bionic, it doesn't seem to be.

I'll even pipe my situation in, my main desktop has USB 3 onboard, but even when plugged into a USB 2 port HOB will not flash via RSD it gets to the first step and closes and says it was successful. I have another computer I use though so I am good.

Man that sucks. I seriously wish I knew how to fix it but I don't. :(

All good, I mean I installed everything together on both computers, everything is the same other than my main having USB 3 ports and I have a feeling that USB 3 controller also does the USB 2 as well and that's why it doesn't work for me. Hence spare computer.

Yea, but you're in a lucky situation. Not everyone has another PC they can use. I really wish I could figure it out.

Odd I have an ASUS MB with usb 3 and just plugged into a 2.0 port and HOB worked great.
Chipsets be finicky beasts!

Funny rocking an Asus myself. I'll have to check my model, but it is AMD based chipset?

Well my linux box is asus w/AMD that has no problem with either my HTC work or the moto. My windows game box is new intel based asus.
Might want to take a look at the drivers for the mb's usb controllers.
