Wireless Moot

I love that quote, "Unlimited is just a word, it doesn't really mean anything." Could be straight out of George Orwell. "Loyalty" is just a word too, which VZW is going to find out soon enough.

It comes down to this: until VZW offers an attractive contract, my next phones will not be purchased through them. I am teaching as many as I can that they can upgrade outside of VZW. They want to play games, so can we.

The sarge should pull a Biggie

"gimme the moot! gimme the moot!
Hopefully my downstairs neighbor doesn't get too annoyed by the fact that i'm now listening to Biggie at midnight. Don't think she minds though, she's always complaining that I don't make ENOUGH noise *LMAO*

OK, I'm sorta looking for sarge to answer this:

Sarge, I got the IMEIs and build dates of both my bionics

My 8GB was built week 42 of 2011 (I'm thinking if I have a 4460 phone this is it) 9 thru 15 October 2011

The IMEI is: 99000831462363

My 16GB which I am almost certain is a 4430 because it only has 4 slots has a build date of 25th thru 31st March 2012

The IMEI for that one is: 990000836307217

I spen t almost an hour on hold for moto tech support, asked for and recieved a tier 2 tech, and she told me that she wouldn't be able to provide me that information, which I interpreted as "I'm not telling you simply because you really want to know" I said "you didn't say you don't have access to that information so you're either not a tier 2, a worthless tier 2, or an asshole. Thanks for nothing, I hope you have nightmares tonight. Good night"

I tried tweeting P3 and Koush both to see if either of them knew how to tell, but I haven't heard back from either, do you know a trustworthy tier 2 that would tell YOU? I think that's all the info you need, right?

I would really owe you one if you can find out for me, because if the 8GB is a 4460 I'm definitely buying wife-unit a new RAZR M so I can keep it (probably getting her one anyway jusy so I have the spare), I know that the 8GB was stable at 1255 and 1333 the way we used to clock on GB, low 100s long bench too if I remember, strangely the one I'm sure is a 4430 (the 16GB) has an amazing sub 100 ms long bench.

Also, since we have a good idea that the razr M is gonna be included in the bootloader program, has anyone made any progress on rooting the M? or will a root tool come from moto with tthe unlock tool?

Didn't sarge say that only the very early Bionic and RAZR devices used the 4460, and Moto rapidly figured out it wasn't economical? I believe he said something about 1% of all the devices out there have the 4460.

I think it's already been determined that they ARE against the law, band C regs to be exact, it's just up to the FCC to do something about it
And I know that less than 1% are 4460s, but it seems like my 8GB is in the correct time window, the build date was just days after the release date (I got it as a certified pre owned 12/30/2011 but the build date is early october 2011

I think locked bootloaders should be against the law *LOL* It's like selling you a car with a hood that only the manufacturer can open.

Agreed, this is yet another example of how legislation lags behind technology. Future generations will look back on our time and shake their heads in disbelief.

yeah, mine with the sd boost from rom toolbox at 40whatever and 2d hardware acceleration enabled at 1200 Mhz hits between 3200 and 3210 all day long now that I saw dave's trick, why the hell isn't the harware acceleration enabled by default?

Certain apps (haven't run across one yet) apparently don't play nice with it. Normally, only ICS native stuff is 2D GPU accelerated. With this option, all non-OpenGL apps are GPU accelerated.

It's sort of funny when you look at the Quadrant benchmarks and realize that a STOCK Bionic running ICS (that clocks itself to 1.2GHz) is FASTER than the GNex. I'm starting to think that clock for clock, an OMAP4430 is for some reason faster than an OMAP4460. CPU and I/O are about equal, the Bionic is faster on Memory, 2D, and 3D. The graphics I can understand, the Bionic is pushing less pixels. But the memory I don't get.
