With all the issues the Galaxy Nexus is having, why is it being proclaimed the best?

On vacation travelling up Cali. I live in Aug. GA and go to school in Greenville, SC.

From what I know about the Rezound there is no instant take which the Nexus has. This is unbelievably useful to me. I captured a pic at pebble beach where birds flew right on front of my camera because if this feature. I know the Mega pixels aren't there for macros or whatever but I would still rake this camera over others because of the phone it cones with.

I was simply referring to the guy which claimed I was talking BS about the Nexus camera and that everything turns out mush which was simply not true. Now I've never even held the rezound so I can't comment on it but I know I didn't want HTC Sense UI and am so thankful I do not have it and if I decide I want it one day... Ill just flash it!

A Nexus with no issues (which I have) is an unbelievable phone with infinite possibilities. Those that hold one of those are the ones arguing against those claiming it didn't live up to the hype ( and coincidentally most likely to NOT be on these forums ) Once you figure out the nuances of the camera it us beautiful tho. Ill leave you with that bird shot and a couple Vegas pics (where I was at before Cali)

Great pictures!

I really have no major issues either.

I've not lost signal, other than the VZW outages.

The only issue I've had with browsing is a minor problem where for some reason I can't check the "Remember Me" box when I login to this site. So if I navigate away I have to re-login. I could check the box on my D1 though. Oddly, I was able to enable this for Galaxynexusforum.com, so perhaps it's a DF issue. Websites both desktop and mobile render fine.

My battery life has been as I expected for a 4G phone. I can get through the day, with light browsing, some game play, playing music (not streamed), phone calls and texts to the wife and kids.

Camera quality is really up to the user in my opinion. I do think the camera on the Rezound is better but my shots from the GNex have been quite acceptable to me.

Best phone for me.

BJU? Only school I know in Greenville! ;)

Haha no Furman University a small liberal arts college with a beautiful campus (can't wait to get pictures of it!). Recently voted second most rigorous curriculum by Newsweek and almost upset Florida this year in football.

Love this phone but has the worst battery for any phone I've used. I couldn't get through 6 hours of use without charging it. I could see the battery draining right in front of me; even sitting. I'm on a ROM now and it's fantastic! Amazing what our Devs can do that Google can't or isn't willing to do!

Well hopefully, the 4.0.3 update (whenever that happens) will help those that have battery life issues. I've never experienced that kind of drain.

I'd agree that battery cannot ever be considered a pro to the phone. I knew this going on tho and do not consider it an issue. It comes with the combination of screen, 4G LTE, and dual core fast processor. I'm confident solutions are being found however and am waiting for a must have portable super charger accessory.

Yes I just received my portable charger from Verizon, my extended battery and I have the car charger as well. I never buy any phone now without these accessories. The one thing I've noticed is that web surfing drains the battery the most. More than streaming. I am guessing that if you have GPS turned on and you're using location services that each time you get online it's tracks your location. This drains the batter. While traveling this past weekend, I had to use the web alot and it was the worst thing I could do with this phone. This is now an non issue for me however... I have the tools and solution to mitigate it.

pool shark.. i started to try what you were talking about in the browser.. however, I couldnt find desktop mode.. but all that looking around, I found inverted rendering... that's freaking awesome! thanks for making me inadvretantly find that!

All the issues Galaxy Nexus is having? Really? This is the most stable device I've owned to date, there's not one device that comes out that doesn't have some issue with someone. So far for me my GN has been really good across the board. This is still one of the best current devices on the Market, and with all the support it will get over time the best device to own IMHO....with all that said, it's certainly not for everyone either.

I've had both phones. The Rezound barely has a shutter lag and it does have a feature in the camera app that takes five fast, consecutive pictures with one press of the button.

Great pics. I have some pretty good pics I took with my Nexus as well. Outdoors in full daylight it tends to do fine. Anything not under sunlight is a different story though. And like dezymond said, the Nexus just can't touch the Rezound's camera. Indoors, outdoors and even macro, the color is spot-on and the clarity is amazing for a cell phone camera.

Case in point....

And a great indoor shot, in a dimly lit kitchen
