With all the issues the Galaxy Nexus is having, why is it being proclaimed the best?

If it is faulty....lol

I forgot about the apps I have linked to my account. Light Flow was installed. I need to charge it up and uninstall it to see something.

I think the default light is white, maybe that's the one you're seeing? Check out green or red, my green lights up my room.

And make sure yer not wearing sunglasses ;)

This analogy doesn't really work. Literally anyone with a PC can root and install roms on their phone with the help from the dev community.

The same can not be said for anyone who is buying a car. Sure I could probably learn how to replace the timing belt, but do I have the tools to do it? Is it cost effective for me? If I break it can I take it back to the dealership and ask for a new one?

So little work is needed to get the Nexus preforming far better than the other stock phones and even if you don't mess with the Nexus it still preforms exceptionally well. Its not like you are buying an unusable piece of equipment and having to mod it to get it to work.

Not a good analogy for sure. I guess i mean strictly stock for stock phones. What will the average consumer care about? It just works or potential to just work.

People are saying Nexus works great out the box. Great! That is the most important thing. If thats true then people are only nitpicking because it was so anticipated. The perceived king of 2011 smartphones. Nobody's fault.

Makes you respect apple fans a little more.

I use the hell outta the browser and I've never had one issue with the browser.

I used the 4.0.2 radios for a while and didn't have any issues. I updated to the 4.0.3 radios just for the hell of it and still no issues.

After a rom/kernel swap, battery life has been outstanding.

It seems to me that a lot of the negative press on this phone is coming directly from a few bad apples. The majority of Nexus phones are working perfectly fine.

Mind sharing those battery saving ROM and Kernal swaps? I guess I'm not tech savy enough to see all that is wrong with my lovely little angel. She just needs a little more stamina to keep up all day.

The only thing that confuses me, one hand people brag about having a "pure" android OS the way Google intended. Turn around and flash the rom??

If flashing roms isnt from google, is it still "pure"?

How can people brag that having a skinless ics os will yield better battery life because its "vanilla", then say you need to change roms for better battery life?? I thought there was no skin to bog it down?

If you went to buy a car- one was very good and could be driven off the lot and performed great but no after market parts.
The other car looks good but it has some problems coming off the lot, but lots of aftermarket parts. If your not a car mechanic, what should you buy?

Im not knocking Nexus @ all. Just saying.

Well, for one, I flashed 4.0.3 so that I could get to that build more quickly than it is being released by Google. It is still "pure ICS", since it's built from AOSP, with the Devs cleaning it up for speed, battery life and known bugs. In no way is it "skinned". So IMO it is still the "pure" google experience, just like most of us flashed roms on our D1 to get to that pure google experience.

And I would venture to guess that Google puts a lot of the improvements from the Dev community into their later builds (since the Devs are in essence doing their work for free). So by flashing 4.0.3 I am probably getting close to having 4.0.4.

If you've ever ROM'd a devide before you'd know it is nothing like a skin. Neither is a "theme". And with the unlocked bootloader, I can go back to pure 4.0.3 directly from Google as soon as it's released if I choose to. That was one of the advantages to getting the Nexus.

To all of you saying you have no issues at all:
Are you all going to mobile websites or simply not using the web browser?

There are countless iavascript bug reports on Google's code page, you're all saying you don't see them?

I use my browser a lot, both mobile and desktop sites. The only thing I noticed is the fb mobile site looks different than it does on other phones. Don't know if that would be a JavaScript error. All other websites I've used look and perform normally.

I use my browser hourly and usually desktop sites, not mobile. The only thing I've noticed is some pages will shift the text over to the left in portrait mode, but in landscape they're normal.

Using your browser in desktop mode, log into google.com, tap on change background image in the lower left corner. Proceed to change the image and tell me what happens.

On 4.0.2 stock unrooted, it let's me select the image, and the image changes, but the search bar and everything else disappears.

Everyone saying the camera is not too great either don't know how to use it or have a defective device. My camera is literally awesome. For emphasis. . . my camera us awesome. I haven't tested the rezound but 8mp is unnecessary and once focussed the pictures take instantly and beautifully. Everyone complements my phones camera (and everything else after I show them).

Here's a picture I just took to show you of Monterrey Bay.

Edit... have full 4G bars yet for some reason forum app says I don't have permission to upload after uploading. Despite the fact it worked in other thread...

Sorry but that is total horsecrap. I owned the Nexus for two weeks before exchanging it for the Rezound. The Rezound's camera is light years ahead of the Nexus. Picture quality is amazing and blows the Nexus camera out of the water. And NOOOOOOO it's not about the megapixels. HTC simply nailed it with this one. The Nexus camera was a huge disappointment. Sure the pics look fine on a 4" screen, but viewing them on any computer monitor is a different story. It's nothing but mush.

I had major issues with signal when I first got the phone. I did a swap and it didn't seem to help in any way that I could notice.

However something has changed since then and I'm not exactly sure what it is. I no longer have the signal issues I did originally. Maybe it was the network... maybe it was changing to the new radios and the new 1.0.3 software. I don't know what it is, but I can now say that the phone is awesome!

Also not sure what you mean about the Rezound having better specs other than the camera. The Nexus has a dual 1.5ghz processor also... it is just underclocked to 1.2.

The Nexus kicks some pretty serious butt!
