With all the issues the Galaxy Nexus is having, why is it being proclaimed the best?

Not all phones are affected by this. You got a dud.

How do you know that? You didn't try it before changing ROMs, so you don't know if yours had the problem or not.
It is a javascript problem and there are many javascript bug reports on googles code page.
Given that information, I have to disagree with you.

Such narrow vision.
No one is saying it should be perfect. No one is saying bugs shouldn't exist. We're saying there are problems and bugs but people like you are ignoring them claiming the phone to be perfect.

I have proof that the nexus uas javascript problems out of the box. Apparently those problems are fixed in alternate ROMs.
Therefore since you made the claim that no one fixed javascript in alternate ROMs but the problems there don't exist, the burden of proof is on you.

No Android phone with a new OS has ever been perfect and probably never will.

I don't think anyone ever claimed the phone was perfect.

The reason its getting better reviews than the Rezound and Razor is b/c it has a different OS that enhances the user experience. Everyone who reviews and owns android is confident enough in Google to know they will address the issues, they always have.

Just b/c GB is more stable doesn't mean its a better OS than ICS.

Clearly, you didn't read my previous post so I'm done with your ignorance.

So now I'm ignorant because I missed one of your posts?
Forgive me for not being perfect like you sir.

I have a coworker with the same issues, and so do the many customers who have submitted bug reports.

Do this since you're the great one with an obviously higher intellect than myself.

Have 10 people who have not altered the phone's ROM, perform the same test you did and see how many of those 10 people cannot select an image due to the select button not being activated.

The problem I have is when a person mentions that the phone has problems, the extreme fans of the phone says there are no problems and they attack those who say it does, claiming those having problems are doing something wrong or it's just their phone.

That to me says those people are saying the phone is perfect.

BFD.. so there's a Javascript bug. Just about every computer system have bugs here and there. Some a major and some are minor. This sounds like a minor one. I use the stock browser a lot and it's great. When I had my Bionic, I used Dolphin.. on the Nexus, I havent even bothered downloading Doplhin. Be happy we dont have bugs like on the Bionic where the phone just turns off every now and then.

So let me get this right. Because someone has said he has not had problems with his phone you are assuming they would say their phone is perfect. That logic doesn't make much sense. Just b/c someone doesn't report a problem, or maybe they don't know there is a problem doesn't mean its perfect.

And I don't think you can prove nor disprove that all stock phones have this JavaScript problem. The people with problems are always louder than those without, thus why you get some much backlash when people are putting this phone down. Its an awesome phone and we don't need the minority giving it a bad name.

All the reviews I've seen put the phones very close together and most mention that ICS has some bugs, but it wins anyway based on Google's track record with fixing problems. Now if Google was to announce tomorrow they are dropping support for ICS and the phones were re-evaluated, I'd like to think the outcome would be different.

When someone post that the phone has problems, people attack them claiming that the phone has no problems.
If a phone has no problems does that not mean they're saying it's perfect aka flawless?

Extreme fans of the phone take any negative word said about it personally and immediately attack.
There is no reason to attack someone because they said the phone has issues, it does have issues, every phone has issues.

I couldn't care less if someone says this is the worst device ever made. That's their opinion, I don't feel the same, but I'm not going to verbally attack them for their opinion.

I have stated many times that mine doesn't have the signal, wifi, usb transfer, or bootloop issues, but I'm not going to attack those who are obviously having those issues just because I am not experiencing it.
Since there are so many people who are having those issues, it's obviously a problem with some of the devices, but there are those who appear to be claiming the issues don't exist at all, which doesn't make sense.

Just a question to the people that complain about the nexus: WHY WOULD YOU GET A DEVELOPER PHONE DEBUTING THE NEWEST OPERATING SYSTEM AND EXPECT IT TO WORK BUG FREE WITHOUT DOING ANY DEVELOPMENT ON IT? Its a development phone for christ sake, romming is what people mostly love nexus phones for... its your fault for getting phone that doesn't suit u. Every phone is good, and every phone has its problems. Get the phone for YOU, not based off of another persons opinion. What they value in a phone maybe different than u...

The only thing that confuses me, one hand people brag about having a "pure" android OS the way Google intended. Turn around and flash the rom??

If flashing roms isnt from google, is it still "pure"?

How can people brag that having a skinless ics os will yield better battery life because its "vanilla", then say you need to change roms for better battery life?? I thought there was no skin to bog it down?

If you went to buy a car- one was very good and could be driven off the lot and performed great but no after market parts.
The other car looks good but it has some problems coming off the lot, but lots of aftermarket parts. If your not a car mechanic, what should you buy?

Im not knocking Nexus @ all. Just saying.

During my first week with the Nexus, I was about ready to take it back.... Mainly due to the battery life and data drops.

Then, I unlocked, rooted and started attacking the issues directly.

1. Updating to the 4.0.3 radios fixed my data drop issues, although my data speed has not changed. I then did some side by side 3G speedtest comparisons (I am not in a 4G area) with my GNex, an iPhone4S and an OG Droid. The Nexus numbers very similar to the iP4S, but were not as fast as the OG. I have also seen other side by side testing between the GNex and the Rezound on this site and the Rezound was also getting better 3G speed, much like the OG. I believe that the OG & Rezound have exceptionally good radios, but I do not believe that the GNex radio is necessarily bad, just not the best out there...

2. I was originally getting around 8hrs of moderate use out of my battery. Not acceptable. Once rooted, I setup some profiles in SetCPU underclocking the processor to 350mhz when idle. This made a HUGE difference. I immediately jumped up to 15+hrs on the battery. Moving to the THO3RY ROM improved things into the 20hr range. Then I upgraded to the extended battery and am now getting over 24+hrs on a charge.

Now I wouldn't trade this phone for anything. ICS. Unmatched Dev support. NFC. I'm loving it.

There is no denying that there are other phones that get better raw 3G/4G speed. Otherwise, all of the other issues that most people are complaining about are fixable in the Dev Community. That said, if you are not the ROM flashing type, then this phone may not be for you.

It's the same thing as being an isheep. The fact is that nexus gives reception of over -100 DB. But it's the best? Speaker is low. But it's the best? landscape mode has lag but it's the best? Who cares about an unlocked bootloader? Why spend $300 on something that has to be rooted to work properly. it should have been tested correctly. No update for the rezound because it doesn't need it

Don't you have a bridge to guard somewhere? Its not about "having to root". I WANT to root and ROM every phone I own. When I purchased, the Rezound was locked down so it was eliminated immediately. Plus the Resound doesn't have ICS (I know it will get it) and I wanted it now. Plus dev support for the Rezound will never match the Nexus. People buy phones for different reasons. Enough with the bashing.

And I have zero signal issues and I actually like the delay from landscape to portrait or vice versa. I hated when it rotated on accident on my D1.

Not sure why you are here then. I'm sure there's plenty of people to also love the Rezound or Bionic (not sure what phone you have) that you can get chummy with.

Nexus has some issues, sure... but they will get fixed; and that's something I expected to deal with initially. I had an X2 that ever AFTER it's recent update had issues; issues I might add that aren't on the GNex (music skips for one, and I listen to a lot of music on my phone).
