YEAH baby! My Demo will be here today!

I joined specifically to Thank you for posting your info regarding your demo

I do have a question regarding if these apps are found on the ThunderBolt or not and if it can do the following:

Can the home screen be used in Landscape mode? (theres a widget that locks the orientation I think by default to portrait)

Does it have HTC Hub? HTC Likes? HTC Locations? HTC Maps?

HTC Hub = allows the phone to connect to htcsense.com

another question, when you click skins and do "get more" does it direct you to the sign up page for htcsense.com ? at the moment its the only way to sign up to register the phone since its not publicly available unless you have the phone in hand. I am able to use HTC Hub this way on my Incredible with a Z rom.

HTC Locations is HTC's premium navigation and POI's location app that uses TomTom maps and instant map viewing on the phone for navigation.

HTC Likes is featured Apps that HTC recommends, you can also use this to integrate your downloads into your htcsense.com account (it will allow the phone to auto download apps to the phone again if you ever have to format)

HTC Maps is the instant map viewer that loads instantly because the maps are stored on the phone rather than like Google, download in real time as they cache to the memory.

I know you answered the question regarding the kickstand but does the phone's body feel like its plastic or aluminum?

Does the ThunderBolt have any "special" sounds like the Droid phones do?

Thanks :)

thank you for the info. you have provided more info than all the other info about the tb on the internet combined. you have been a great help!

Wow, this is great to finally get some hands on info about the TB. Thanks for posting the info.

I know that you described the size difference to the X. If possible can you take a pic of the two phones side by side to show the thickness comparison and overall size?

Just got a call from my VZW Account Manager and she is dropping off the Thunderbolt to me this afternoon! It is a Demo unit and I have to sign a non-disclosure form, but my day just got a whole lot better!

All I can say to this news is: WINNING!

Old buddy old pal, could you tell us how the 8gb internal space is mapped?

How much is device storage and how much for media? Droid X has all internal as app storage and some devices like the Incredible have 768mb device app space and 6.6gb as media space.

Thanks!

I think you should cruise to rochester and test the 4g. Have dinner at the dinosaur bbq and let us know about the battery life. Not that I will have 4g anytime soon, but I think we all want to know.

To my knowledge, no. I like to have lots of Widgets though, so it is possible one or more of them is causing it to lock in Portrait.

No, No, No and No. (At least, not that I can see.)

I don't see any spot that it says "Get More," and I have checked in the Skins and also the menu on the Skins screen.

I know you answered the question regarding the kickstand but does the phone's body feel like its plastic or aluminum?

Kickstand is metal, battery cover is plastic with the "rubberized" coating, and the rest of the phone is plastic.

I assume you are referring to the "DROID" sound. The bootup animation shows the Thunder/lightening storm animation and does have the sound to go with it, but I don't see that as a ringtone or notification tone anywhere in my choices of sounds.

Not to sound NOOBISH, but is there an easy way to see this mapping? (I've only owned one Android phone, and it was a Motorola phone, so I am not as familiar with how HTC/Sense does certain things yet.)

Dang, well, it will be rooted and a Desire S ROM will be ported to enable all that. Thanks for checking. Dang they removed alot of stuff from Sense.

This is what i was referring to in the "GET MORE" part of my question

When you click it, it will let you connect to the HTC hub (htcsense.com) to download more.

Why they would remove it is stupid because even the Inspire 4G has it... :(

For more screenies on what to expect from a FULL Sense 2.0+ experience, see my PhotoBucket from screens taken from my Droid Incredible using a ported Z rom

Thanks again :) Hopefully they'll enable it when we get the gingerbread update
