Your Warranty Replacement just might be a Droid 2 / Incredible

My story: Been having repeated problems with the "certified like new devices" they keep sending me, and no it's not some made up issue. I've spent tons of time on the phone with customer service factory resetting and everything, and have even taken it to the verizon store where i left it with them for an hour so they could try to fix the problems and always in the end, they send me a replacement phone. I started having problems with this current phones usb port, after talking to customer service they said they would send me a replacement. As soon as i took the phone out of the box, i slid the slider open and it was ridiculously loose, so I called verizon and they said they would send another. I received the next replacement this morning and it was exactly the same issue with the slider. Called them back, and told the guy what was the problem, he apologized repeatedly, and was all around a very nice guy (unlike others i have talked to). Just as soon as i told him the problem he asked if i really needed a keyboard, i told him i really never use it at all, then he asked if i wanted to try the incredible, of course I said Yes. So he's overnighting it to me now.

On a side note, me and this guy got to talking about pretty much everything phone related, and he started talking about the Ipad coming soon. So i said that i had heard the Iphone was coming to verizon and asked if he knew anything about it. He said that from what his bosses have said was that they were trying as hard as they could to get it, and that they took on the Ipad to try to establish some type of relationship with apple. Take it for what it's worth I guess.

So verizon is sending me a new phone. What concerns me is that during the first couple weeks I had the phone, I had dropped it and there is a couple of nicks on it. This however did not cause my static issue as I was static free for a few months after that. So hopefully they won't be a pain in the butt about it.

I think they accept "normal wear and tear" type issues. I had small scratches, missing paint, etc after having the phone seven or eight months and they didn't say anything about it when it came to return the phone.

Should I even ask why you claimed to have lost it when it's just water damaged?

I have a problem with my keypad coming undone. Besides that I recently noticed that my phone volume is annoyingly loud. I put it on its lowest setting and yet its still blaring. It is so loud, in fact, that I have to move the phone away from my ear because it sounds as if the person is yelling. Normally I didnt care because I use my Bluetooth but just last night my Bluetooth died and I had to use the actual phone. This is very annoying and quite a problem. I went into my local mall and to a Verizon kiosk, asking them if theyve heard similar complaints and what I may be able to do. All they said was that I need to go see a technician. They have no idea whats wrong with it, no idea what might replace it since the original Droid is dead but thats what they told me.

Ive grown rather attached to this Droid and if they seriously think theyll replace it with some refurb mess I think Ill just deal with these problems.

Well I called verizon and told them that the slider was loose. They are sending another one, I will have it Monday. Hopefully that one is good too or I will be sending it back too.
