z4Root - One Step Rooting for Many Android Devices!!

Yes and furbearingmammal is a member of the rescue squad, which is why he wears green tights! :)

Sent from my rooted A855.

Go up to the top of the screen and click the Droid at the top. Now scroll all the way down to the bottom. Along the way you'll see the various forums for the phones, custom ROMs, themes, supporting vendors, the off-topic forum, and at some point the Rescue Squad. :)

Where discussions of z4root have been held in the past (just to keep this on topic ;)).

Just wanted to say thanks to furbearingmammal and MotoCache1 for their help with re-rooting my 2.2.1 with FRG83D, it worked like a charm!

Backed to being rooted now :D

Need more HELP!!

Ok So I rooted with Z4. Now that I have that, do I need to install a ROM and how do I install themes? I know I'm a dork but if you can help I'd appreciate it.

Thanks

I rooted with z4 root a couple of weeks back now I'm getting the update notification. I have not installed it but what do I need to do to keep root and stop getting the reminder of the update?

You don't need to install a ROM. To install a theme you can either flash recovery with ClockworkMod Recovery or SPRecovery or use Metamorph.

Install a custom recovery image and flash a rooted FRG83D ROM or install the update and then root using the link in my signature, which will give you a custom recovery image anyway.

I believe the mention in the first post was from another user and it was before 2.2.1 was released and was only a leak
