Frankly I'm not surprised but am very disappointed. I have lost all confidence in and respect for both Verizon and Motorola. I'm glad they found the bug before it went out to our phones but quit dangling the carrot. They have been dangling the 2.1 update carrot for months. I personally dont want to know anymore. Push an update, don't push an update I don't care, just don't tell me its coming on a certain date then yank it at the last minute. Make sure the bugs are fixed then push the update, don't say its coming, just send it. This way no one knows and no one gets all worked up for nothing. If they took this approach then they would have less customers upset with them. I think most of the anger is based on the perpetual dangling of the 2.1 carrot. I am done with Verizon. I love my Droid but Verizon sucks. I was really hoping the 2.1 would fix some of the quality issues with my phone. Since they bought AllTell the signal strength has dropped and here lately the call quality has sucked big time. Verizon needs to start looking at their customer satisfaction. This fiasco has really cost both Verizon and Motorola brand loyalty.

Engadget's information is identical to BGR. IMHO I am willing to bet that one is reposting the "news" from the other. Not to say that they both don't have it right. But 50 people giving the same information from the same "source" makes it no more or less accurate than 1 person giving that same information.

You have any idea why or when its going to be scheduled. Also this forum isn't coming up correctly on my computer and is slow... you guys having issues?

The most grandly ironic part of this is Verizon slapped Moto for laying out a timeline for the release because they didn't want their customers to expect the update and then not get it.

Fast forward to this week: Verizon goes and sets the release date and updates documentation on their website signaling it will be released soon. The time comes for the release and ... nothing. They botched the release and had to push it back, now they've pissed off their own customers.

Talk about crash and burn.
