2.3 Update

That's true... any suggestions on what kind of phone I should upgrade to?

The most incredible, incredible!

I've pretty much decided on the Nexus as my next upgrade, but on our family plan I already used one (3 out of 4) so might have to wait a little longer. If anything I may just wait and wait til ICS hits other devices, I'm content with my Inc so far and when I get bored I'll just flash a new ROM. Hopefully, I'll be able to convince the store to hook it up with one more upgrade, nothing better than a happy paying customer right? After all I did use the upgrade last Nov, so when the Nexus drops it will be Nov or later...

I'm gonna be in a family full of iPhones soon, gotta keep the Android presence strong in this household:lifting:

I've thought about the nexus. But out just doesn't seem like my cup of tea. I'm gone and away from a charger all day, so I need something with a decent battery. That dang iPhone is looking better and better every time I charge my phone 2 or 3 times a day...

Nothing wrong with the iPhone, it's just not my cup of tea. I don't like how limited and how dated iOS feels. Aesthetically, the iPhone is one damn good looking device, no denying that, and there is not an Android Device out there that looks as clean (there I said it). The problem for me is I am very tech savvy, and the iPhone is built for pretty much the general public. For me, iOS is so simple, it's complicating, at least for the first few minutes. Another thing I don't like about the iPhone is everything needs to be done through iTunes which is a P.I.A, and everytime i hook up my nano something always seems to go wrong. It's a great phone and a great OS, just not for me.

The Razr is supposed to get good battery life, but no denying that Apple has the best battery life across all devices.

I like the iPhone hardware, I think its more quality than my X. I would commit suicide, however, if I had to do updates through iTunes and use a computer to do major changes to my phone. I had an iPod touch. Never again.

The iPhone is an awesome looking device and I wish Android would have a device released that looks as sleek in the US. Other countries have some good looking ones, but won't work here. I wouldn't even own a nano or have itunes if it weren't for one of my cars that only use ipod interface, really annoying. Can't argue getting a 16gb 4th gen nano for $35 either though....

Yeah that's a great deal...

Europe always gets the cool phones anyway... supposedly, you can run Android on an iPhone. If that was a viable option and worked without many bugs, I'd almost consider it

I got the update but now I almost wish I hadn't. Bugs galore and just when I decided to finally root my phone I find that unrevoked can't root an Incredible with 2.3 yet. Ah sad day. I do like some things about GB though, like speed, and smoother animations, I just wish my phone worked properly and stopped crashing every app (including phone and messaging stuff) and restarting 2 to 3 times a day.

I do really want to root though, and maybe even play with some ROMs too.

The only downside to rooting is voiding your warranty, but I'm sure that's over anyway.

I personally didn't really start ROMing til a couple months ago, but like my D1, it's really fun. If I get bored I can switch it up and try something new.

I ran stock for a good 9 months and it took me that long to get bored with my phone. Nothing wrong with a stock phone, I just rooted first to get rid of bloatware.

OK so I talked to a Verizon rep today to try and get an early upgrade due to the amount of bugs from 2.3 and the rep informed me that on Oct. 29th they were releasing a major update to "fix" all the gingerbread problems. She said they were aware of all of the bugs and that they were keeping up with all of the forums and were releasing this on that date. Now as we all know several times dates are thrown around only to never happen so I guess to all those who got the bad update and those who didn't get one at all, keep your fingers crossed. I know I am mine.

Well the rumor is the update was supposed to be pushed out again "very soon", and Oct. 29th is well, around the corner. Whether the update is being pushed is hit or miss, and lately it's been miss. Not to mention that Verizon normally doesn't tell employees anything until the official announcement, and usually you'd find that kind of info here before any Verizon store.

Verizon is just a provider, any issues, software wise they really can't help much. They may push the update out, but it's really the phone manufacturer doing it. I don't go to Verizon for any help unless it's regarding hardware issues since I already know what answer I'll get.
1. Factory reset
2. CLNR
