In his fb post he said 500 est. Plus shouldn't the donators be expecting it 30 mins early?

I really wish threads should not be posted about "coming soon," tonight", "today","maybe this week," "maybe this year/century," etc. Doesn't really accomplish anything nor is productive.

I think it can definitely be annoying when a date is given and not met. However, when there is hype about something, more people will be chomping at the bit for it. Personally, if I were to be developing something, I'd want as many people as possible anxious to use it before its release so that when it is released, I know that it is being used/abused by as many people as possible.
These kinds of threads are usually "hearsay" and useless but Blackdroid did personally state the he would have the 2.4.0 ROM up last night and then restated a delay and that it would be up tonight after 5pm.
I would of course rather Blackdroid take his time and work out any kinks rather than just get the rom up asap with bugs. A thread like this is great to inform other who don't have time to follow his twitter for the newest information. I do agree that pages upon pages of speculation and comments might not be necessary.

if UD uses comcast there internet servers and service is down in alot of areas in the middle of the US.

No excuse. I am sure he knows how to use google's free DNS, to get around the issue. Several times a date is given, and I really can't remember when it actually came on time. He just does it to build hype, me thinks.
