2014-2015 season NFL Chat

The Texans only need one more win to tie their record from last year! Clowney seems as fragile as Harvin and that makes me mad. I was praying for the Texans to draft Blake Bortles with the first pick but they took Clowney instead. So far Clowney has had a hernia, a concussion, and now a torn MCL. And we have Kirkpatrick as QB. Argh!
He was touted as being possibly very fragile before being drafted. He reminds me of that "Booby Miles" in the movie Friday Night Lights. His lack of self discipline and workout ethic cost that kid his career in the movie. I see Clowney in the same footsteps possibly. I hope I'm wrong there. That tag team of he and Watt would be awesome, so much so Goodell would turn the quarterback sack into flag football, no more actual sacks but pull the guys flag.

I'm on the verge of giving up on the NFL altogether. I can't stand the direction they've taken, and I'm disgusted by them not being able to hit anyone anymore. I understand the safety aspect, but it's to the point where it doesn't matter whether the hit is legal or not, if it's a hard hit, you can almost guarantee a flag. It's just not fun anymore.

I'm watching the Steelers v. Ravens game now, and I cringe after every hard hit because as I said, you can guarantee a flag. These receptions are bringing in total yardage + 15, every single time. It's utterly ridiculous. This isn't the sport I grew up watching.

Some hard hits, good football hits. Way too many flags. Flag football next year. Or powder puff football.

Didn't watch tonight's game, but I knew there were going to be alot of penalty yards based on it being the Steelers vs Ravens, two very hard hitting teams.

I'm all for player safety, but c'mon, it's football, it's a violent sport. If they're making good football hits, let them play.

Well, AP is feeling the heat now. If Rice received an indefinite suspension for KO'ing his drunk wife, AP should receive the same for abusing a defenseless child. And yes, from the pictures I've seen, it's abuse.

Seattle making a comeback/Sand Diego is choking again (yup sand like the sinking kind).

WOW who would have thought arizona leading our division. Kap is looking worse like he is not progressing at all.

Best play of the day yesterday for Skins hopefuls was the one where Griffin went down. Though I don't like to see any player get injured, they stand better chances of winning without him than with him.
Perhaps others can explain why he seems to be their worst weapon on offense but to me it just looks like he's still "me mode" instead of "team mode".

He plays really dumb. I mean he tries to extend a play by scrambling and ends up getting hit. He's not a big guy at all and it just takes one good hit to really get himself hurt. Unfortunately yesterday he went down untouched, but once again it was because he trying to make something out of nothing.

I remember one game he took a hit towards the sidelines because instead of running out of bounds like any QB would've done to avoid contact, he took the hit and got laid out on the sideline for maybe an extra half yard. It's like he plays to get hurt.

Against Cleveland in pre season he got jacked up 3 times in 1 play trying to skirt the sideline instead of just get out. Is that the one you mean? He looked like a friggin pinball on that play

Yeah that one. That was stupid on so many levels:

1. it's the preseason
2. you're a small QB with a fragile build

The guy really isn't a smart player

I need Jeremy Maclin to go off tonight! I need 24 points from him to win fantasy this week. I don't imagine it'll happen, but it could.

Never know what you'll get from Eagles offense. Would help me win fantasy with Foles if they both go off.

Let's go Eagles!
