.215 ICS Leak

yea... whatever I freeze always stays frozen... that sucks dude, maybe try uninstalling TiBU and then reinstalling? you probably already tried that though

I just did a FDR and data/cache wipe the other night and reinstalled everything from scratch ... but I didn't even bother with it, I just added .bak to the end of the .apk files like I had done before. But they drove me crazy ... I even started a thread about it over at the droidrzr.com forum :)

I am unable to download the update from droidrzr.com due to "hoster has exceeded bandwidth." Any suggestions? I am running .211
Appreciate!

I would post in that thread so they know and can put up a new link. Or maybe try again in a while after some others have stopped downloading it.

Download the second link in the OP of that thread... media something.com, thats what you need if youre stock. 211

Oh, ok. I guess it's a good thing the 1st link didn't work for me then. I'll try the mediafire link. Download on phone then move to sd card. Sorry. I've read many of the posts, but I'm not nearly as tech savy as many of you. Appreciate the help.

Necessary to FDR and wipe cache partition

I upgraded to 215 leak. Is it necessary to do FDR and wipe cache partition? I assume its necessary to do after each leak upgrade but I just wanted to get others thoughts on this before I go ahead.

I did one when I upgraded to ICS from GB, but have not done one going to either of the leaks that have been released.

Has anyone's battery been running hotter since installing the .215 leak? When not using my phone for a few hours it runs around 87-89 degrees farenheit, and after 10 minutes of use it jumps up to 95-100 degrees. It has been up to 105 degrees before I got worried and shut my phone off. Any help with this?

Mine has been ok, haven't really noticed it running hot. And my battery life has been great on .215 ... I just did shut it off to do a full charge up after 32 1/2 hours on a single charge with lots of usage... :)

My battery life isn't too bad, not the best either. Just don't think its good for it to run that hot. Maybe because of apps in the background.

I'm not sure what temperature is "too hot" for a battery to run ...

And I'm pretty obsessive about apps and stuff running in the background, that's why I turn almost everything off unless I need it on. :)

The battery monitor I am using displays higher temperatures in yellow, orange, and then red. After about 92 degrees it turns yellow, and at 102 degrees is turns orange. I have background data off and I am running a task manager but every 30 seconds there are apps that start running even after I kill them. Not sure how I can stop this.

I believe that the cause of my battery running hot was the app Open Signal Maps. I noticed that it was constantly using 10% or more of my battery even when I force closed it. After uninstalling my battery seems to be running way cooler and lasts longer. So beware of that app!

You can freeze it, but after a reboot it will defrost itself and magically reappear. Same with Google Play Books ... for some reason those two apps don't like to be frozen. The only way to get rid of them is to rename the .apk files by adding .bak at the end of the file name. Don't CHANGE the name, just add .bak to the end and the system won't recognize them. :)

When I did a reboot last night all of the apps that I have disabled stayed that way, even Google Play Books and all that. Lucky me! Thanks for the help.
