.215 ICS Leak

a couple of weeks ago i left my phone in the car while we were at the lake, i went to check for any missed calls and i had a "high temp" warning saying that the screen and some programs had been disabled due to the heat. i scrolled to my temp meter and it read 123! i let it cool of on the way home and it went back to normal. no problems at all!

i have the lte toggle switch on my phone, and it switched back to global the first time i restarted my phone, but since then, even with the 215 leak i puton today it has stayed cmda only.. so far so good!

by the way, my 3g signal did get better, i dont know how big a difference it made, but my reading at the house used to be -81 to -84 and since the leak its running constantly in the low 70's even hit like -68 once! i know thats an improvement, just dont know if thats actually a big deal or a small jump in the range of signal. either way, im def putting it on my daugthers phone when i get my hands on it.

also she wasnt able to connect to her college wifi after the ICS upgrade. does the 215 leak help with this?

thank you all for the advice and input, i will def be hanging out here learning what i can!

Russel the cop

I never had a chance to use wifi before I installed the .215 leak. I did have an issue earlier where I couldn't reconnect to my wifi, it just kept trying to get the IP. I had to reboot my router to connect.

Russell, your daughter's wifi should work but chances are she needs to put in the wifi's security code again. What you may want to do before she comes home is ask her to try to connect her wifi and have her report what happens when she tries to connect. Does it ask her for the security code? Does it say no wifi available? Its she maybe trying to connect to the wrong wifi signal? If she is able to connect to the wifi when she gets home, then that would mean that her wifi works.

ill have her try that. thanks, her laptop works fine on the wifi, i know that much. hopefully when i actually have the phone in my hands i can check the settings on a few things to try to optimize it for her.

my wifi at home is really weak now... it used to be full strength before .215... anyone experiencing this and/or have any ideas?

Ahh, yes jtc! As a matter if fact I am and it is driving me crazy. I thought it might have been something going on with my router... but today I noticed that out seemed after a phone call would trigger me to get full signal. Realized it must be the phone.

Its very strange indeed.. one minute its as low as possible.. now its switching between good and excellent strength

Ok, time to disable juice defender. I think that is the culprit. And I wondered if it might be. It is one of the associations I made about after on a call... JD disables wifi while on phone call and re-enables it after. Let the testing begin.
