If you're on stock .211, you don't need to... unless you have problems updating to .215 like I did, in which its a great tool to get back to the OTA ICS update... but if you're on stock .211, you should be good to go with the update.
But for future issues, its a good download to have... Its somewhat large... 1.1 GB so if you don't need it right now, just wait to download it when you do..
So this is the very first time I've gone against stock, but I'm not rooted and need some help figuring this procedure out. Can someone please give me some simplistic written steps for a noob who is not rooted to do this, especially on what folder to save the files to and how to access recovery? Thank you so much!
Yes option #1 in the utility will get you back to stock .211... but that means it will put your phone back factory settings so if your rooted back all your stuff up with TiBU
If you are on. 214 right now you just need to get the downgrade package that Mattlgroff pulled down for us over at Droidrzr.com. Put that in your SD card and run it from the stock recovery and that will get you to. 211.
Then you run the .215 zip and you are good to go. If you want to keep root then install Voodoo and backup root before running the downgrade package.

OK so I found info on how to boot into recovery mode, so I downloaded the update, placed it into my sd card, and rebooted into recovery
I'm getting E:Signature Verification Failure. Then I need to reboot back to here. I'm completely stock and unfroze my previously frozen apps. Help please!

Make sure the update is by itself on your sd card, not in a folder or anything. When your in recovery mode you should be able to press the volume up and volume down buttons simultaneously to access the recovery menu. Once there it should say "update from sd card" or something. Thats what you want to click, the update will say its version .211 as well but it is really .215, and takes 5 or so minutes to update. Hope this helps out. I'm rather new to this as well but it was painless and simple for me.
OK I figured out that I cannot move it using Astro, but instead it only worked after using the My Files app to.move it to the SD card. Install worked! Not gonna lie it's noticeably quicker, and liking the chrome browser so far.

I like the built in Chrome browser as well, and it does seem a bit quicker, its a bit snappier when I type too. I also have a slightly better data connection and signal.
Crap, I screwed up. Got to going to fast. Used 1.8 utility option 1 to get back to .211. Re-rooted using option 2. Installed voodo. I forgot to unroot in voodo before I flashed .215. It seemed to go ok and my kernel build date is now July 11. I have lost root. Can I use option 2 to root? Can I use option 1 to get back to .211 and start again?
