After v.07 update Super User (root) access is gone

How do I get my root access back after I updated using ROM Manager and version v.07? I can't seem to get root access back? Do I have to treat it like it's never been rooted?

I dont mean to repeat myself but how do i regain root access again when i use this rom. i believe the updated super user app has something do with it? someone help please!

If you have the super user permissions app showing in your applications, you already have root access. If you're needing to run a script through terminal emulator and it is not working first type su and then hit enter and then run your script. Hope that helps.

Yeah the app doesnt even show up. i cant use su in terminal it says permission denied bc i have no super user app

I installed the SuperUser update while I was running the .6 ROM and it made the program go away. The phone was still rooted and everything that ran before I updated still worked, but there was no way for new programs to get permission because the SuperUser program wasn't installed anymore. I could still use the su command at the terminal though. All I had to do was reinstall .7 and everything worked perfectly!

well i have a theme zip for just the helix2 droid icon if u guys want it...only 2 things...im not a real dev or anything so when i made the zip metamorph wouldnt unzip it...so if u want u will have to unzip on the comp n place the folder in your androidthemes....and i havent tested this i cut out all the rest of my stuff n just left the helix2 bc thats what u guys seemed to like and it should work but i have no way of knowing unless i reflash the orig and what not which i dont feel like doing lol...would anyone wanan try it and see if it works for them before i put it up?...and if j rummy doesnt mind this is his thread n rom

Post whatever you want. I need some more feedback for my themes as well. Does everyone like all red icons or all blue icons or do more people like different colored icons. Complain a little and maybe things can improve more.

I sent you a PM with no reply but i am using the blue theme and would like option to run the diff colored icons like the CYAN has. I would love to find some icons that look just like the cachemate widget icon, so they all looked uniform... cough i guess like the icrapper icons dare i say

I just updated to v7 from v6.
Has anyone noticed if you can set individual ringtones for contacts?
I have a general ringtone that plays, and I chose individual ones for certain ppl.
Well no matter who calls the general ringtone plays even though I chose a ringtone specific for that person.

This used work in the past.
Maybe I need to choose a option that defaulted to???

You have to do this in contacts, click on contact, click your contact and goto OPTIONS and then you can set up a seperate ringtone per contact. and you can also switch if you want this person to go straight to voicemail or not... dam android rules!

that is how I chose each persons ringtone.
The problem is that when they call its the default ringtone not the one I chose for that person.

I have even gone back into the contact's options and it shows the ringtone that I chose yet it doesn't play when they call...

That is what is so strange to me.

Hmmm. I looks like some users are having issues with the new superuser app.. try installing the superuser app from rom manager under extras. If that doesn't work I will further help you.

Well this thread is way too long to read now for answers but...

My issue: When my wifi is off and I use the widget or settings to turn it on the phone freezes and then goes into a boot loop. With ADB I changed graphics in the Settings.apk file but I just restored to before I altered that and it did the same thing. I just tested like 4 times and had to restore after each loop. I am going to try a different Kernel, if this matters at all. Any ideas guys?

(btw I love this ROM I am just starting to get annoyed with small problems in different peoples ROMs.. All I want is a sweet fast stable ROM with tons of hacks like this one and to theme every apk myself. I did that with UDv9 but these new ROMs are faster and have a few more hacks that I like. Failure is taking time, and I am starting to lose hope, hah)

Ok, so I just installed the 1000 P3 Kernel to see if that would fix the wifi connect freeze issue and still did the same freeze-reboot-loop thing. This is a pain. I dont want to clear everything and re-install the clean ROM and all my own apps and stuff again. Arrrgggg...

I saw a thread at cyanogenmod.com that might help. Wifi causing reboots. Look at post 28. I hope this helps.

Awww snap. That seems like quite a bit of work and I am NOT very good with routers and such. I mean my wifi WAS working flawlessly on UD versions, Cyanogens, and even the last jrummy and this version untill today... odd.

the thing is when i do that while running your v7 i cannot boot into recovery via rom manager, i can download but i have no way of installing. i can only enter clockwork recovery manually by powering down my phone and hold power/x.

I downloaded the updated Superuser 2.0.2 app. When I click on it after it's done downloading it tells me it needs to reboot in order to continue the installation. When I choose Ok it does nothing. Help....

I downloaded the updated Superuser 2.0.2 app. When I click on it after it's done downloading it tells me it needs to reboot in order to continue the installation. When I choose Ok it does nothing. Help....

Try this update.zip and let me know if you get su permissions back (I haven't tested this but I think it should work). Make a backup just incase something goes wrong.

It's themed for me and I am running the cyan theme.. What launcher are you using.

Well.. I went from Cyogenmod 5.0.6.2 then went to yours without wiping.. then whatever launchers you had that came with the rom I removed them and download the HelixLauncher2 from the market.
