There are also plenty of places to download the updates. You don't have to use the system update option and pull it from /cache.
that is true lol but the link i originally provided was taken down (someone deleted it from there dropbox)There are also plenty of places to download the updates. You don't have to use the system update option and pull it from /cache.
alright ill hit u up sometime kinda got my hands full at the moment that i need to get done before i go to workhit me up on google chat. I have a few things that might be helpful. [email protected]
no the .886 xml will not work with the .893 fxz in the . 893 fxz u have at least 4 new image files an the rsd will come back with an unknown error cuz it doesnt have a command to flash the extra img files also if u were to put the xml of the .893 in the .886 FXZ u would get an error stating that it cant find the nessecary files to flash cuz the command line is looking for the img files the .886 doesnt have also the 893. recovery/boot and cdt files are incompatible with the .901/.902 updates an would cause the FXZ to failAlso after reading this thread, i have to say alot of what it seems you did was unnecessary. The 866 fxz update only requires you to swap out the boot and recovery images with the .893 boot and recovery, along with editing out the cdt flash completely on the xml. And with the 893 fxz the only thing that is needed is to edit the cdt flash and formatting of the internal sdcard. Nothing else will prevent you from taking the 901 or 902 update. Hell, you can just use the edited xml from the 866 fxz and put it in the 893 fxz and that would work also.
Np glad i could helpTHAT WAS FOR SARGENTMAJORD.... GREAT JOB WITH ALL YOUR HELP!

but the problem is if u dont flash the extra IMG files with the .893 the phone becomes unstable i bricked my phone about 5 times before i was able to edit the xml to not erase the personal data on other peoples phones for. instance in the process i tried to remove the emstoage IMG to prevent the wiping of personal data it didnt work all it did was cause the phone to become unstable cuz the emstorge IMG file replaces the userdata IMG file that was in the .886That is not true at all. I have done many times. The 866 xml is not looking for the other files regardless if the images are there. Thats the point of the xml. It can't tell if there are extra files. The only images reguired are the boot, recovery, system, preinstall and the grfs for an update to flash. The rest, the update doesn't assert.Thats why you take the cdt flah out of the xml completely.
i appreciate your concern an advice but this is a proven working method it has fixed 500+ bionics in the last 3 days lol so there is an old saying if it works dont fix it an i know how my FXZ files work an i dont want to unnecessarily modify them but i do appreciate ur feedback an i am not trying to be rude or disrespectful in any wayI don't want to use your thread to bash the things you've made. Hit me up when you get a chance and i'll be more clear about how some of this works
na it wasnt the img file cuz when i took it out the FXZ flashed but i caused the phone to be come a unstable an resulting in a brick all i had to do was edit the erase user data line in the script. an when i did a side by side comparison of the .886 .893 i noticed that the .886 didnt have a emstorage img file but had a userdata img file where as the .893 had the emstorage img file but not the userdata img file
