5.5.5.893 FXZ .901/.902 compatible and.902 update

Also after reading this thread, i have to say alot of what it seems you did was unnecessary. The 866 fxz update only requires you to swap out the boot and recovery images with the .893 boot and recovery, along with editing out the cdt flash completely on the xml. And with the 893 fxz the only thing that is needed is to edit the cdt flash and formatting of the internal sdcard. Nothing else will prevent you from taking the 901 or 902 update. Hell, you can just use the edited xml from the 866 fxz and put it in the 893 fxz and that would work also. All of which these fixes have been done over a month ago. The cdt.fix was made by realbbb.

Why is the internal sdcard format needed???? seems like a wasteful step??... also the FixCDT script is merely the the .901 cdt.bn file, with accompanying dll files to ensure the users PC has the necessary files to run the scripts, and the simple script to run the flash.... I don't know what realbbb put together but it's not this one...

!Backups no longer needed both newly modified FXZs leave personal data/apps and files untouched!

Are you saying that all the downloaded apps don't get wiped??...how? when userdata is being wiped?...unless you meant something else

The formatting of the sdcard is not needed, hence editing it out completely like the cdt flash. And there is a file called cdt.fix by realbbb, if the OP cdt.fix is just the .901 cdt, I misspoke

You recommended not to run flash cdt.bin in the XMLs?

!Backups no longer needed both newly modified FXZs leave personal data/apps and files untouched! But you will lose root once you flash either .886 or .893 FXZ file an must use the exploit to get it back. Make sure you are in charge only an USB debugging is selected when rooting.

I see what you did/// you took out the erase userdata command... but left the erase sdcard command....curious why you wouldn't also remove the erase emstorage command as well?
So flashing the system.img file over existing system without wiping data might work....basically like the OTA that leaves all userdata intact......

Can't help think that this might somehow cause instability down the line...perhaps time will tell...

Also, the userdata image isn't used to wipe data

That wasn't ever said...
He stated that the older targa FXZ had a userdata.img file while the newer FXZ did not...but there's no command to flash that img file in that older FXZ....

lol...better idea...so what wipes the data in these FXZs?>

Nothing wipes the data. The fxz's are meant to keep data. The one I made, I added the wipe data command. I like to have a clean slate when I revert back. Having TIBU makes losing data a non-factor.

???... So you attach an Eclipse 2.1 ROM'd Bionic and run this FXZ from this thread and it'll retain all aspects of Eclipse other than what's being flashed via the system.img??
really??...

one question....so why are you at the Android welcome screen then?
