5.5.5.893 FXZ .901/.902 compatible and.902 update

excellent guide! One quick thing though, for those people that have flimsy batteries that drain quickly - do yourself a favor. Before starting the flash in RSD lite , grab and old USB cord and strip the mirco/mini usb end. Isolate only the red and black wire and connect the red wire to the (+) of the battery and the black to the (-) . This will keep your phone charging while the process is doing its thing. I had my battery die half way through when i was flashing the previous update and then you can't charge it with with the wall charger , nor usb because neither will recognize the phone. Just a little advise :)

Boy, I hope someone here can help me.

I backed up my apps using titanium, backed up my phone completely with Bionic Bootstrap, removed that SD card, completely wiped the cache, then I used R3L3AS3DRoot to upgrade to 902 with root. All went extremely well, except none of my apps were there after putting the first SD card back in. I realized that I backed up the app data, but not the apps, so I used Bionic Bootstrap to recover my former build (893). Unfortunately, that bricked my phone.

I tried to use R3L3AS3DRoot again to start over, but that won't work. I get as far as the Android showing up on screen, but I have no way to get to settings to make sure debugging, etc. are checked. It just says "Please wait, this may take a few minutes." This stays there for over an hour. So I tried to use RSD Lite with the 893 build, didn't work, so I tried the 902 build with RSD Lite, didn't work. So now I REALLY have a bricked phone.

I tried the fix cdt, it showed that it worked. When I try to use R3L3AS3DRoot, it says that it failed, and doesn't reboot. Then I'm stuck in AP Fastboot Flash Mode (s) (flash failed). The error is when it is writing "system"...INFOPreflash validation failure FAILED (remote).

I try to use RSD Lite again, it gets to the end of uncompressing, and says "Please check input file. Either XML format is wrong or image files associated with it are missing." So no dice there, either. I have no idea what else I can try! Can anyone PLEASE help?

Ugh.

I wish I could, but I have no idea how to do that... at this point it appears I have no version on there at all. I can't get into anything, but I went from 893 to 902, then back to 893. Can you help me figure that out?

"Please check input file. Either XML format is wrong or image files associated with it are missing."

I just realized that it might be the 886 build actually. I had to update twice to get to 902. Do you know where the 886 build might be?

With the second 902 download, and using RSD Lite to flash, I get the same error. I have no operating system on the phone right now, and I can't flash anything on. I worked on it for 8 hours yesterday, and still no dice.

So far the only thing I haven't tried is to moto-fastboot the images, but I don't know how to do that or where to get the images from... unless that is another way of saying to use motofail and option 4, cuz I've tried that, too. Any help there? Or does anyone have a link to another 902 fxz? I tried the link that sargentmajord posted, but there is nothing to download there. Sorry to be such a pain, but I really need my phone for work. :(

Here ya go man.. http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-bionic-hacks/202176-detailed-safestrap-instructions.html
At the bottom is the moto-fastboot file and the full 902 xml file or you can use Timmy's download that will flash all images with moto-fastboot.
Any questions...just ask and let us know how things turn out.

Well, believe it or not, Verizon will cover the replacement of the phone. Oh well. Thanks for the help, anyway. The phone is definitely a brick, no doubt about it. The tech knew a few tricks to see if he could save it, and laughed that he couldn't, so he sent the replacement.

Apparently there was something else going on in there before I messed with it.

The Motorola Universal Phone Exploit isn't working. When I open run.bat, and press a key to get it going, it just says "adb is not recognized as an internal or external command" for about 20 lines. I ran the FXZ fine with no hiccups, and only disconnected when RSD Lite said "PASS". Help?
