Right now in order for u to get the. 894 update u need a new bionic so yes do the replacment if u want the .894 update. Second prior to doing the. 894 update forever root the phone cuz the .894 update does retaim root. Third theres no point to going back to the. 893 update cuz it is a bad update an not the most recent its a qoute/unqoute relief update not a full on like the .894 that actually patches the android os. And not just the kernel/radio and some enhancements for data connectivity that the .893 does

This sounds pretty ridiculous to me. So they send out a bad update and then they're going to send a second update that fixes all the issues but if you applied the first update they don't have enough sense to allow everyone to apply the 2nd update no matter what kernel and radio you have?

So unless we get new phone from Verizon we will still get all the updates as they come out but we haveto wait for them? I saved a copy of stock rooted after I took update had to go back with fastboot because I screwed up. It is rooted and the update is avaiable on it. So it doesnt matter thogh because once I took the OTA I have the 5.5.893 kernel & radio no matter what it says.

This is the most rumor fueled crap shoot stupid post I've ever seen in my life. why people are still posting here I don't know... what makes you think that this guy out of any of us who have called and talk to motorola and verizon multiple times knows anything more than anyone else on the forums??? I mean think about it... why would motorola release 3 updates all to fix the same thing before I c s?? u wanna b on the right of the path??? take the updates motorola sends out when they send them out! no one's gonna get I c s before anyone else and if anyones worried about that you can capture any update that anyone gets at anytime... host it and then everyone will have it anyways.. I mean gosh I just wish this thread would die it's so full of mis information and rumors and crap I cant believe it has survived this long.

I did the upgrade myself over a month ago from a leaked file to 5.7.893 and it has worked fine for me. If the 5.8.894 upgrade has more fixes, I would like to be able to apply it as well. But, if that can't happen, ICS is next and hopefully soon. Oh and sorry I made this thread live a little longer.

There is no need to return any phone to get an update. 893 is the official update. 894 may be a leak never intended for release or a backup release in case the first one didn't work. The update worked for me and my phone works flawlessly. I never rooted.

I think what he means is in his opinion the 894 update has more stuff in it and it is on the path to ICS.Its hard to say but once your hear your hear unless you want get a different phone. Iherd other guys say when they were on 894 data was not 100% So all we can do now is sit and wait I havent had a drop in awhile and sig seems to be better. The phone seems to be more snapier but it did take a couple days.I know Moto are dicks but I dont think if they had something better they wouldnt put it out if for no other reason than yo shut us up

well it has been doing better in battery and data. But when I attempt to take a picture it "autofocus" into a blurry picture.

Does anyone know when they will push out 894? Thx

We must have scared him off, he hasn't been on the site since 6:39AM on the 16th.

Don't you worry, he's been gone but he'll be back! He's been waiting on hold all this time to talk to his motorola manger contacts and high tier techs to get the latest scoop for all of us! Just wait and see what 'official' info he comes up with next! lol.

Kinda funny how he created 3+ threads to spam his message and now disappeared once the actual truth of the 5.9.901 update came out from motorola. Goodbye troll. I feel sorry for everyone who believed his BS and installed the 5.8.894 update thinking it would keep them on the official upgrade path. :frown:

The 5.8.894 update is the official last maintenance update before ICS rolls out to all bionic phones in late January if u have not updated to any leaked ota's u will receive the following updates in the following order before you get ICS ( 5.5.893--> 5.7.893--> 5.8.894--> ICS ). If you go the standard route with the updates via Verizon it will take at the latest 4 months to be fully updated to ICS. Due to the fact that moto is sending out updates in batches an not all in one wave so everyone gets it at the same time if u wish to skip the long route u must have a bare bone stock bionic an u can download the 5.8.894 update from here ( Blur_Version.5.5.886.XT875.Verizon.en.US.zip ) an wait only a month and a half at the most before that sweet OS rolls out to your bionic. dancedroid

( make your bionic a happy bionic )

Man i bet this 5.9.901 update that was released by Motorola is embarrassing for you. Where is that crow when you need to eat some....
