6-14 [ROM] Froyo Kangerade V1.0 *Blazing fast, 7 Theme options, many extras*

This rom flys with Chevy's ulv 1.1 kernal

I have seen 1728 screenshots with the JRummy rom.

Does anyone have any issues with advanced task killer? It might be more of a froyo issue b/c I have seen it on other Roms. It doesnt kill itself like it is supposed to. when you kill selected apps it stays running and never shuts it stuff down like it did when I was using 2.1.

Help a Noob

Haven't rooted my Droid yet, going to try it this afternoon and was going to use one of the remix roms but now found this.

Can I use the procedure described here (using SPRecovery) but simply use the Kangerade zip file?

Also, can anybody point me to a way to backup everything I will want to bring over to the new rom, and then how to restore it (I am thinking in particular key ring bar-codes, contacts, etc)? Reading around I guess a nandroid backup and titanium for app data, but havn't found a clear explanation.

I'm pretty stoked to dive into this, but am totally new to the whole thing.

First of all, the ROM is awesome. I have the Red theme, and it's just amazing. I downloaded and installed chev's ulv 1.1, and that thing flies like no other.

Which brings me to my question.

It is eating the battery like no other. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced it--given that I'm new to rooting and such, I could possibly have overlooked something basic, and would NOT assume it is a flaw in the ROM.

Advice would be greatly appreciated.

Its been killing my battery too. I had it charged and ready to go at full charge this morning when I left the house. Its been 8 hours and I'm at 20%. I have not touched the phone at all other than 2 calls and my normal checking it every so often to see what time it is. This sort of use before I rooted/installed this rom, I'd get nearly 2 days out of the charge.

Now, this is the first time I've ever rooted, installed roms/kernels, etc. So I'm probably missing some tweaks or something.

I'm using the P3 low voltage 250-1000 kernel. I could use some advice too.

its been installed and running smoothly otherwise since the night before last.

JRummy....is there are place we can find your goodies like LWP?

Using ROM manager customizer is no good. I asked for the blue neural network...but it gave me the multicolor nexusmod.

thanks

Love the ROM. This has became my new favorite, but I can't seem to find the sound recorder app. I see that it is installed in my list of apps but there is no icon in the launcher. Any else having this problem?

btw how do i get the stock 2.2 launcher back? im using adw and its nice but i like stock better

I think to switch back and forth just go into terminal and type such hit enter then type launcher. That should switch it. If you decide to switch back just do that again.

Yes, that method will work just fine for you. Just make sure you have SPRecovery already installed, of course, and that you rename the file properly (making sure you don't wind up with a file named "update.zip.zip").

When you enter SPRecovery, you will see the option to create a backup, so go ahead and do that. You will have the option to do a "Simple" or "Advanced" backup-the difference is the amount and kind of data that will be stored, but reflashing either one will get you back to a functioning phone.

To flash the ROM, follow the instructions in the video EXACTLY, including the wiping part and let 'er rip.

Regarding app backups, if you are not already rooted, you can't use Titanium. Once you flash this ROM, you can start using Titanium for future flashes.

I would suggest using Astro for the time being. It's free in the market, and the help file provides some pretty clear instructions on doing an app back up. It is not as detailed as what you can do with Titanium, but it will at least keep your apps. After you flash the ROM, you can then use Astro to restore them, which is quicker than doing it through the market, although that will work as well).

You WILL need to add your accounts and restore all of your settings yourself. That's not a terribly huge deal, but budget enough time for it.

Good luck and have fun!

I personally contacted the ATK Dev about this issue. He sent me the updated APK. I sent the file to Kellex over at Droid-Life to post it for everyone, but I haven't seen him do it yet. The Dev said he's gonna update the market soon. Here's a link to my dropbox for the Froyo 2.2 updated apk download:

First off, I was getting a FC on the com.android.phone (I think was the name) - basically the dialer... When getting a call, or during/after a call there'd be a message on the screen. It didnt affect the call or drop it, just said something about a FC - was odd. But I ran a fix permissions and all is well now.

UPDATE: I actually had another FC on an incoming call. Any idea on this j-man? Anyone?

Try a different kernel? Or up the lowest clock setting for standby? Some people were having trouble with setting min to 125 (obviously I don't know what you're running :) )

Jrummy,

Your ROMs are awesome and some of my favorites. I ran Remix all the way up until Froyo leaked. I liked the speed of Froyo so I kept it while checking constantly for you to release something for it.

Unfortunately, Kangerade runs great for a little while, the just locks up and reboots at Random. I was running ONIX before and have now reinstalled it and am not having this issue with the exact same P3 1250 Kernel. I had a similar issue with Remix 0.7 , it would reboot anytime i used the on screen keyboard too much, 0.8 fixed that. Can't wait to see a new Froyo release from you, I will try again at that time. Hopefully the source is released and its the new Cyanogen Remix by then
