6-14 [ROM] Froyo Kangerade V1.0 *Blazing fast, 7 Theme options, many extras*

Youtube widget doesnt work fully.

Not sure if this is b/c of froyo or custom or what but if you click on the search on the youtube widget it doesnt do anything.

Using blue theme.

Also, Wifi seems to be getting flakier as the days roll on...

Everything else appears to be working great though.

Edit: Not sure whats going on. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't (youtube widget search). Oh well minor problem anyway.

my issues...

after complete wipe and install, none of my apps would load. manually installed astro & titanium and the ROM wouldn't reload any of my backed up apps or system data via titanuim either. maps still an issue and

i tried reinstalling busybox via titanium and still wont work...

Not sure if it's related or not, but I ran into a really irritating issue using ROM Manager and CW Recovery the other day that hosed my SD card:

Can you actually see your SD card in Astro? My immediate suggestion would be to try to completely wipe and reflash using SPRecovery, as a lot of people seem to be reporting issues with CW Recovery and ROM Manager lately.
Of course, you might want to hold off on that to see if other folks have additional or better suggestions than I do.

Thanks for the help, it worked perfectly.

I'm now running Blueberry Kangerade!!!

So, other than the great UI, what can I do with this monster? Any tips on making the most out of this?

Cool, glad it worked out. Not sure if you've rooted before, but your first stop should definitely be to the Market to get Titanium so you can back up your apps and settings in case you run into another issue like this in the future. Also, check out Appbrain if you haven't already. As I mentioned, since I've been using that, I rarely, if ever, go directly through the market any more.

Honestly, the GUI is the one thing I'm not really using ;). I'm using Sweeter Home and loaded my theme back on as soon as I got everything tweaked out in the ROM, and that's working great (other than an odd issue with Contact Shortcuts in the app, but not a big deal). The cool thing there is the various theme elements from Jrummy really compliment my SH theme, so I'm really digging the combination.

Personally, I'm still poking around with all of the new Froyo goodies (new camera options), and the general consensus seems to be that this is one of (if not THE) most stable Froyo ROM out there right now.

HELP!!! Endless Boot Loop!!!

I have a major problem. I tried jrummy one more time. I installed Jrummy's Froyo ROM and wiped cache and did a backup. Everything seemed to go well until I shut my phone down and then started up again. Now I can't even get the phone to start correctly... unfortunately I'm in an endless boot loop that I can't get out of. I can't do the typical boot into recovery by starting up holding the x down. Anyone have suggestions???

Pull the battery. Replace the battery, start up and try to get back into recovery that way from a new boot once you break the loop.

What recovery were you using-CW or SP?

I'm trying to set up an exchange mailbox (which I actually manage) and I can seem to get it to go. Since I have been playing with Froyo, autodiscover has not worked for me. It works for me with Windows Mobile, but that's beside the point.

In a previous version of Froyo I tried, there was an option for a manual setup and after using that it worked like a charm. However, I can't get to that manual setup in Kangerade.

Anyone have any ideas?

Hmm.. Manual Set up was there for me, seems your install might be bugged? I did notice that in landscape mode with the virtual keyboard, it covers up the button. Maybe thats it? Its on the screen where you initially put in your email address and password.

I installed jrummy using ROM Manager and had CW recovery setup. I've tried pulling the battery and trying to get into recovery by holding down the x key while starting -- no joy.

I can't seem to get it past the boot animation at this point.

I'm about to call Verizon and cash in on the insurance I've been paying for.

Other ideas? I'm open to trying just about anything.

Thanks!

Don't do that! I don't know how to fix your problem, but it is really really really hard to truely brick your phone. Go to the "Rescue Squad", I am sure they will help you there. Like someone else said, it is not a matter of if you can recover your phone, just how far back you have to go to do it.

Hmm, my best suggestion at that point would be to see if you can use RSD Lite to try to flash SPRecovery and get in that way. Worth a try before you jump through the Verizon hoops (and pay the deductible).

This report, plus others, plus my recent experiences leaves me with pretty much zero confidence in CW Recovery right now. Nothing against the Dev by any means, but this recent build seems to be causing major problems for a lot of people. Until that gets sorted, I'm not using anything other than SPRecovery.

As ndhill1976 mentions, the Rescue Squad folks might have other ideas or suggestions.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out for you.

Also, go visit the rescue squad. I don't know what your problem might have been as many users have flashed this rom w/ no problems (maybe borked recovery). I am sorry you are experiencing this but I do doubt that you are bricked. Good luck and report back of results or if you need additional help after going to the rescue squad and using that link.

Thanks for the hope. ;)

Thing that sucks is I'm at work and they lock us down pretty hard so I can't do RSD Lite until I get home at about 6pm tonight. If RSD Lite doesn't work that pretty much leaves me without a phone all weekend -- on Father's Day no less! :(

If it does work I'm golden.

This really sucks. I've flashed all the other Froyo ROMs with no problems at all. Jrummy is the only one that didn't play nice. :(

No worries. I don't think it's your ROM, I think it's CW. :(

When I first got your Froyo ROM up and running it was awesome -- fastest ROM I've played with so far.

Thanks for the reply. I'm sure RSD Lite will get my phone back to good. I just have to wait till I get home to do it.
