6-14 [ROM] Froyo Kangerade V1.0 *Blazing fast, 7 Theme options, many extras*

This really sucks. I've flashed all the other Froyo ROMs with no problems at all. Jrummy is the only one that didn't play nice. :(

I definitely wouldn't blame Jrummy's ROM (although, perhaps your download got corrupted somehow). I've had zero issues what so ever, other folks have had minor issues, but most seem to be resolved rather quickly.

In following the threads, once you sort out folks who didn't wipe completely or just needed to clear caches, etc. one thing I'm seeing a lot of are people taking about major issues when using ROM Manager or CW Recovery.

I tried to use the recent build and it totally hosed my phone (fortunately I was able to fix it), and I tried flashing between recoveries a couple of times using ROM Manager, and saw some flaky behavior there as well.

As I say, I'm not trying to talk smack about the Dev-I've got a huge amount of respect for the guy and his work, but for whatever reason, there are a lot of reports about problems right now, and with something as critical as recoveries, I'm simply not willing to take ANY chances.

Check out Rescues Squad-it sounds like you've got some time to get some good responses from them, and failing all else, RSD is always an option to try.

anyone have any tips to get Wi-Fi working on Froyo? Seems like all the builds I've tried WiFi hasn't worked... it goes to connect, and then says it's going to obtain an IP Address and then it turns the Wi-Fi off....

I'm afraid I can't offer any help on this one, but I'm really curious to know the answer.

I've heard this mentioned from a lot of people and was expecting to have the same thing happen to me. But it didn't. WiFi, Maps, Market and everything else have worked perfectly for me since I flashed.

I'm not trying to rub it in (really), but I'm very interested to know why I'm not having problems but other people are. One of these days, the roles may be reversed, so I'd really like to know what's different.

I'm coming from BB1.1 (the first rooted ROM I installed after V2.1 OTA), and used SPRecovery to flash. Did a complete wipe and factory reset before flashing and it's all been good.

Live Wallpapers slow down my phone to beyond unacceptable levels. Choppiness everywhere in the UI. I experienced this with BB FroYo v0.1 as well.

Is this is an issue with FroYo, my phone, or these ROMs?

Other than that, kangerade v1.0 is blazing fast on P3Droids 1GHz 125mhz..

Anyone else seeing this?

I stopped using live wallpapers many roms ago including 2.1 roms.... They definitely slow down the phone..I think it is a phone issue..

I use LWP with 2.1 roms with absolutely zero problems (mainly nexusmod). Everything remains smooth as butter.. only pops up in 2.2, and everything gets slow.. from homescreen switching, to launching app drawer, etc. OCing to 1GHz helps, but performance is still unacceptable.

Yep, so far it's looking like it's a CW issue, but I can't even boot my phone at this point (sticks on the M screen) so it looks like RSD for me. Not a problem, I've done that before to get back to non-rooted stock so I'm somewhat familiar with how to do it.

Thanks for the reply! :)

Don't do that! I don't know how to fix your problem, but it is really really really hard to truely brick your phone. Go to the "Rescue Squad", I am sure they will help you there. Like someone else said, it is not a matter of if you can recover your phone, just how far back you have to go to do it.

Also, go visit the rescue squad. I don't know what your problem might have been as many users have flashed this rom w/ no problems (maybe borked recovery). I am sorry you are experiencing this but I do doubt that you are bricked. Good luck and report back of results or if you need additional help after going to the rescue squad and using that link.

No worries. I don't think it's your ROM, I think it's CW. :(

When I first got your Froyo ROM up and running it was awesome -- fastest ROM I've played with so far.

Thanks for the reply. I'm sure RSD Lite will get my phone back to good. I just have to wait till I get home to do it.

It's not clockwork.... he can try flashing clockwork recovery again if froyo corrupted it which it can happen if you try to install some of these froyo roms using sprecovery. But that doesn't brick your phone even then. The fact he can boot up to the boot animation is enough to point that it's most likely a kernel issue to me. at that point you are already past the recovery portion and you mention you can boot into it anyways so the recovery works.

I think you are running a kernel you shouldn't be or one you phone cannot handle.
Unless you physically damaged your phone hardware wise, as long as it can power on at all it's fixable.

if you feel like you need to flash an sbf file to fix then go ahead, but from what I read so far I don't think it's necessary. Prob fixable in just a few minutes

edit: ok i see a post about stuck at M now. who knows. I'm pretty sure it's not cw, perhaps you can use adb. depends how far into the bootup you are getting. and for the record I'm a little irritated by the apparent clockwork/rm finger pointing I keep seeing on these forums.

I'm starting to wonder if there is a problem of having too many files on the SD Card... do you think this is a possibility? I don't know much about ROMs and the file system on the Droid... but for me having different backups, rooting, unrooting, flashing different kinds of ROMs... think that the reason some people are having trouble and others aren't is because of cross information on the SD Card? Maybe we should just start out fresh! haha

I'm pretty much relegated to recovering via RSD at this point.
