6-14 [ROM] Froyo Kangerade V1.0 *Blazing fast, 7 Theme options, many extras*

I've had zero problems with wifi and have run the stock kernel with Kangerade, jdlfg's, and Chevy's...not helpful, I know, but it points to something other than just this ROM...maybe as was suggested, the experimental nature of the froyo leaks and the idiosyncrasies of our devices?

and for the record I'm a little irritated by the apparent clockwork/rm finger pointing I keep seeing on these forums.

Don't be irritated, it's nothing against the Dev or the work. In my case, I had a pretty major issue that I suspect was caused by CW Recovery. If you have additional insight into what might have caused the issue, I'm happy to hear it, as I want to figure it out as badly as anybody.

After I re-downloaded and reinstalled ROM Manager, I tried to use it to create a backup, and that failed. I then reinstalled again, and tried to use it to reflash SPRecovery, it failed the first time and FCed, then succeeded the second time.

So, for me it's been flaky. SP has always worked without fail or glitch.

If CW works for you, that's great. It hasn't been reliable for me, and reports from other folks on this board indicate that there might be an issue with it. If there are issues, I hope they get resolved, since ROM Manager is a really clever bit of software.

We're all here to help each other out and talk about our experiences.

In other news, your point about the kernel is a good one and definitely something to check out.

I'm trying to set up an exchange mailbox (which I actually manage) and I can seem to get it to go. Since I have been playing with Froyo, autodiscover has not worked for me. It works for me with Windows Mobile, but that's beside the point.

In a previous version of Froyo I tried, there was an option for a manual setup and after using that it worked like a charm. However, I can't get to that manual setup in Kangerade.

Anyone have any ideas? :huh:

So - I think I figured out how to get this working. Instead of going into the settings --> Accounts & Sync --> Add accounts, I just clicked on the 'email' app. For some reason I get the manual option there and I am able to put in my username and server. Maybe I'm the only person who had this problem, but I thought I'd post it just in case.

Jrummy... If I could kiss you, I would! ( In a totally cool, hetero way of coarse ). I have been looking all over for a ROM that made me go WOW! Have tried a bunch but kept going back to the good ol' Smoked Glass by Adamz. You have cured my addiction, Sir.

Seriously... BEAUTIFUL WORK. This ROM IS blazing fast and runs sooo cool. Not to mention how PEEERTY it is.

Just wanted to join the many who have already thanked you. I'm gonna send you a little something via paypal as soon as I can get it past Mrs. GeneRs.

One Suggestion if I could... How about themeing the drawer handle blocks of ADW to match the installed theme colors. ( Start with cyan. That's the one I loaded.:blink: )

Just wanted to add my 2cents that I've experienced the flakey Rom Manager / Clockwork recovery behavior in a few Froyo ROMs now. Flashing SP Recovery and then re-flashing Clockwork from within ROM Manager has done the trick for me.

Course, when this happened to me it was when I was showing a non-rooted friend how "cool" ROM Manager was. *sigh* That's how it always goes down for me, I suppose. "Hey, look at this totally awesome... wait, no, its broken... hold on".

Is anybody experiencing random reboots on this ROM? I have tried them all, with different kernals, settings in set cpu, juice defender, and everything that I know and I can't keep from the random reboots.

Off topic, but is there any way to delete a partition I had created for apps2sd the old way? Can it be deleted using the phone?

You do know that LauncherPro has a 3D app tray? You just need to enable it in the settings.

no it doesnt....where do u see that?

Under advanced settings in launcher pro. Check the box next to 3d launcher. Also make sure you have the latest version.

thanks for this kid...i just added it with my theme uber sexy droidness right now it amazes me how well this launcher runs compared to anythin else...u tellin me this dev is better than motos lol

Anyone have issues with news and weather widget also weather & toggle widget not being able to locate current location? It only works after I locate my location using the google map. Is there solution to this?

goodies question....its a pretty big file...why do we have to install like a rom? this installs on internal memory? i rather not install anything else on internal memory my phones running great but i want some things from goodies cant we have an sd card goodies file like u used to do jrummy

happened to me when i first loaded this rom...it fixed itself ina day or so...i believe this is an actual server problem for the widget and not specific to this rom
