[ROM] [6/18/12] CM9 ICS For the Droid Pro

Thank you so much for your hard work on this. I am coming from a galaxy nexus and really like the droid pro, although I still need to see how battery life is! Thanks again for this, I hope you continue to work on it in due time.

Could I make a request for pdroid patches being built into this rom? I know there are user level apps like Permissions Denied, but I like the kernel level blocking of pDroid. Patch links for CM9 are posted at [CM9][PDroid][Apr08] ICS port of PDroid framework, CM9, P990 - xda-developers
That's pretty neat, I hadn't seen that yet. This link is a little better for details of what it does: [APP] PDroid - The Better Privacy Protection [2012-03-18: Bugfixes in Patch 1.32] - xda-developers

Of course, I think getting a stable rom is higher on the priority list, but it would be nice to see included sometime after most of the bugs are worked out.

Holy cow! Long press the right hand button and the camera opens + it works as a shutter button! I have been waiting for that feature since this phone came out. When did that gem slip its way in here?

Any updates on another update in the pipeline? Or maybe we could frankenstein together the 3-4 build with the 3-21? I'd love sound settings+gsm data+ camera in one package.

I tried merging the two and seeing if I could make one work when the 3-21 version came out, but had no luck. I have a feeling that jackpot is waiting for the D2G folks to get a working GSM build before he bothers making another build. I think they did get it working in their 4-3 build, but I can't confirm and i also can't tell if that version may have introduced new bugs. They don't really give a change log and trying to figure which random issue posts are one-off's or a real bug. Best I can tell is that Wi-fi is somewhat buggy, MMS doesn't work and the camcorder doesn't work (but might with lgcamera/camcorder app). I think those were already issues for us though. It sounds like there might be a new version for them in the next few days that has a few more bug fixes, so might as well wait.

Installed c: I love it. Thank you!!!!

Just a couple of notes.. don't install the older version of gapps. It didn't work (obviously).

The blue LED didn't work for me, but holding volume down while booting got me into the bootloader still.

No tethering.

:icon_ lala:

oh! and the keyboard backlight works. I love it.

Thanks for the info ngtwolf. It's so odd how these builds seem to break and fix things that appear so unrelated! Here's hoping we get another update soon.

Well, I played with a hacked version of the 4/3 d2g rom on my pro earlier in the week and with a small change, the gsm worked. I also see there was a newer version that came out on 4/11 that looks like it could be pretty good (no new issues, and the current major issues are related to video playback as well as recording). Since jackpots work is related to the d2g work, it's likely his next build could be a daily driver for both cdma as well as gsm. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what his plans are. Unfortunately , other than jackpot and lurker, we don't really have any rom devs for the pro, so until one of them remembers we're here and comes back, we just have to wait :) . It would be nice to eventually get one stable rom for the gsm users of this phone. :)

Hey, call me a selfcentered sucker, but I'd be happy with a stable cdma build that fixed the sound issues :-P

Hahaha! I'm probably going to pick up the One X anyway, I really like the keyboard on the pro, but I think this is the last motorola device i'll get (unless they drastically change the way they do things after google buys them).

Hmm where is it possible to find that 4/11 version to try?
Or better..what kind of hacks are needed to put d2g from in our Droid pro?

Came back to say that I have installed this! It's pretty snappy. Thanks Jackpot! Is anyone else have force closes with the sounds settings?
