[ROM] [6/18/12] CM9 ICS For the Droid Pro

For enabling gsm data on the new build (21-03) you can try: ...."...To make data work you need to do another workaround - the one with adding ro.telephony.ignore.linkiperror = true to build.prop "
From rootzwiki... (post 1140)

Just looked at the download, that's already in the build.prop.

Sorry... Because i've seen on rootzwiki "....looking at it, I'm not sure where BD got "ro.ril.ignore.linkiperror=true" from because in source it looks like it calls "ro.telephony.ignore.linkiperror" instead. Could try adding that to build.prop and see if that makes it work? ..."

Yeah, I had read the d2g forums as well and saw that post, but it didn't sound like anything either. i also saw another post about a possible fix via sql, but even with that fix i believe there was still a problem. I don't mind putting ics back on to test, but I'm gonna hold off until someone on the d2g forums has an idea that sounds like it'd work or even confirmed by at least 1 person. :)

GSM networks (SIM PIN problem)

It seems that the 3-21 version does not work with SIM cards (GSM/WCDMA networks) that have a security PIN enabled - the PIN is not requested and the phone cannot log in to operator network.

If the SIM PIN is disabled the phone connects to the network, and even sets the APN correctly.

On the first boot I had a problem with "process com.android.phone has stopped". Then I ran "fix permissions" from the preinstalled ROM Manager (via Clockwork recovery should also work) and rebooted the phone,
AND followed instructions from the first post (try several times if the error throws you out of the network menu):

The best way to switch the network type is to enable airplane mode (via Settings menu, it didn't work via power key!)
head to the Testing screen: open the dialer, and dial *#*#4636#*#* (dial via onscreen keys)
select first menu option, scroll down and switch to CDMA auto (PRL),
then go to Settings, disable airplane mode, and choose WCDMA preferred (or GSM or whatever GSM variant you prefer) in the Mobile networks settings (not in the Testing menu) under Settings -> (Click More) -> Mobile Networks -> Network Mode -> Then your Network Type."

Try several times if you get the "process com.android.phone has stopped" error!

EDIT: GSM/WCDMA data does not work with 3-21. The E or 3G symbol appears for a few seconds, and then disappears. APN is set automatically and cannot be edited.

I assume he means the Force GPU rendering option under the Developer Options in Settings.

Ya, it's in the development section. Just wanted to comment that it now send that my camera fcs after every picture I take. It's not a major problem since the pictures turn out fine but it is slightly annoying.

Actually the camera works fine. Its taking a picture from the facebook app that causes it to force close.

is there any videos of this running? searched hi and low but found none. quite interested in this. might pick up a pro depending on how ics look on it.

I dont think so. ICS still has a few bugs in it but in general it works great. I just ordered a second one so that I can play around with it. It seems like the early march build worked really well except for the camera (which was fixed in the 3/21 build but broke other things).

Has anyone had any success overclocking with ICS? CM7 worked but ICS is having issues.

If you want I can record one and toss it up quickly. Got any requests for what you wanna see?

Good question, I've never flashed an OC kernel on this before and id love to get over 1ghz with a smartass gov.

You cant install a different kernel since the bootloader is locked. What people have been doing instead is adding modules to the kernel to allow for overclocking and initd support. There are about half a dozen apps on the market that do this automatically. The problem is that the droid pro is not as popular as other motorola phones so not all apps support us.

In case anyone was wondering, Instagram works perfectly on our phone with CM9. Pretty happy with that, considering all the complaints other people have about that app functioning.

I love this rom. Great job! The only thing I am having a problem with is Chrome and Opera mobile. Neither of them are working. Has anyone else had this problem or been able to use them?

Any updates on another update in the pipeline? Or maybe we could frankenstein together the 3-4 build with the 3-21? I'd love sound settings+gsm data+ camera in one package.
