[ROM] [6/6/2012] CM7 for the Droid Pro based on GB

I guess CM7 for the Pro is pretty much bugless! Next stop is CM9 (Icecream Sandwich) they are skipping 8 because that would have been Honeycomb but the source was never released

Just to make sure I get this correct, when installing from OTA Gingerbread we need to wipe data, system, cache and davlik cache? Also, does your flow chart in the original post still apply for this latest build?

yup. the wifi is working, the settings stay chosen, torch works, wireless tether works, the camera works. :icon_ lala::icon_ lala:

jackpot, you're my current favorite human. :hail:

haha thanks guys!!

if coming from the Official Gingerbread 4.6.8, yes, you have to wipe the system, data, cache, and dalvik-cache. But I do recommend you make a clockwork backup of you current setup of 4.6.8 (in case you dislike CM7 and want to go back, you can just do a restore and it would be a snapshot of you current 4.6.8 build)

What is it doing

Still can't get into bootloader to sbf, can't get into recovery to factory reset, and the CM build on it loops over and over and over after the red M logo........My fingers hurt from pressing buttons while the phone starts trying to get into either bootloader or recovery. Have tried with battery, charger, battery/charger, battery pulls with and without charger, with usb cable to laptop.............still no go.

okay so i'm coming from the leaked version of gingerbread. I know i'll have to sbf and then get the ota.

i'm kind of confused as to what I have to do after that. do I have to install the DROID 2 bootstrapper and then flash cyanogenmod? or just download the zip files and flash through clockwork?

i've only ever rooted and installed a rom once and that took me forever.

help me!

first, make sure you battery is charged. then download the 4.6.8 update.zip and put it on your sdcard renaming it to just update.zip then sbf to 3.8.7 upon reboot, press the power button + r + m and it will take you to the stock recovery. there you install the update.zip that you downloaded and when it reboots, root with the d3 method, boot strap, reboot into clockwork, wipe system data cache and dalvik cache and install the newest cm7 .zip i've put up.

reboot and enjoy!

Hi Jack,

I installed the latest CM7 from you, the build is good. Smooth and good battery life.
First of all, really have to thanks for your great effort!!

However, I didn't manage to get my data connection work, (both Wifi and cellar data).

WIFI was connected, but no data was transferred.
APN was set correctly, but no data was transferred too.
(I am in Hong Kong and using GSM/WCDMA as the network instead of CDMA of you guys in US.)

Another bug I found was that, when the SD card is full, the camera will get FC.

Here are my installation's steps:
1. SBF to 3.8.7
2. updated to 4.6.8 through update.zip from you
3. Rooted with Droid 3 method
4. Install Droid 2 bootstrip
5. install CM7 from recovery mode

Goog, I think that after trying for so long you'd already try this but give the following a shot:

1) pull your battery, make sure USB is NOT plugged in
2) Hold down Power, Volume Up, and Volume Down at the same time
3) While holding those 3 down at the same time, pop the battery back in.
4) Hold the three buttons together until the phone loads to a black screen with white text that reads your bootloader version.
5) Plug the USB in, the Screen should show USB on it it (recognizing that USB is plugged in)

With that setup, try to SBF.

Notes: I sbf on linux (Ubuntu) so I don't know if RSD Lite (if that's what your're using) will recognize your phone in that state. Also, if you do a "adb devices" your phone WON'T!!!! show up, but you still should be able to SBF.

Let me know if that works.

I have a question that I'm not 100% sure is related to cm7.

I got intrigued by the idea of using our side button for the camera. It apparently can be achieved using an app called button remapper.

However, in cm7 we do not have a working button it seems.
In quick launch it can not be assigned to anything and in the list of buttons in button remapper it does not show up either. It should be button number 246(side).

Like I said, it simply seems to me that in all of cm7's config files there is no mention of this button so the phone doesn't even know its there.
Correct me if I'm wrong of course.
But if I'm right, do you think there is a way to fix it?
