[ROM] [6/6/2012] CM7 for the Droid Pro based on GB

Would doing an advanced restore of data and cache get my apps and contacts back

Yeah an advanced restore of the data from a previous cm7 backup should work. Only cm7 data though, stock data doesn't mingle with a cm7 system

Another thing u said the datafix was included in the new 1013 do we gotta type in the commands in the terminal thing or does it do it automatically just with the build?

Use the 1015 build from a few pages back and wipe the system prior to installing. You will need to install gapps again. If you go back more pages, look at the instructions to activate the wifi data fix in the terminal

Power while holding the r+m button, wait for the triangle, hit the @ symbol and wipe system and cache. Had that exact same issue.

Yeah, I pressed the @ symbol and the menu pops up but for some reason my volume keys will not select anything. the default option highlighted is the first one, reboot system and therefore the only option I can choose as the enter button works just fine. I have tried all other keys on the phone to choose factory wipe but nothing works. In the stock recovery, only the volume buttons are used to highlight the different options. This is all so ridiculous as you would think that SBF would erase everything, EVERYTHING!!!! INCLUDING DATA. The phone would work and start up just fine if I didn't have to boot into recovery to wipe data even after an SBF to get rid of the boot loop. Stupid Motorola.

Can you get the phone to get recognized by adb now? If so you can wipe data and cache the old school way! Terminal ftw! Also what are you gonna do if you get everything working but don't have volume keys? Still under warrenty I presume?

I haven't been able to get adb to recognize the phone. Yesterday it recognized it while the CM build on it was looping except it stated device offline so I was unable to run commands on it. Today, I hoped that it would also recognize it while 3.8.7 was looping on it but so far no luck. I get my Inc in the next few days so the Pro will become my play with ROMs phone. I'm not sure why the volume buttons don't work in the recovery. I figure their is something wrong with the board because last night, I opened the phone and pressed on the button soldered to the board directly and it still wouldn't register button presses in the recovery. As far as adb, I figure its a matter of drivers or USB cable to get the phone to be recognized.

Man that sucks, i cant see why all those went wrong, and to be honest i havent been able to get adb to recognize either of mine since i super bricked my pro, i kinda think its because of the one click root method as it uses same adb files to run exploit

oh btw, i was mowing the lawn yesterday and i think i remember seeing somewhere that if you hold s and the power button with the phone off, it should boot into the bootloader. might not be s but another button on the keyboard... also have you tried moto safe mode?
Safe Mode - DROID Pro by MOTOROLA

Yeah I think clueless had mentioned using S yesterday but that wouldn't work either. I just tried safe mode but 3.8.7 animation keeps restarting here as well.

Another thing is even if I could get the bootloader again and SBF again, I would just end up in loop hell again because SBF'ing a phone doesn't delete the data portion which is stupid if you ask me. But anyways.
