[ROM] [6/6/2012] CM7 for the Droid Pro based on GB

The battery icon is located in the cyanogenmod settings, you have to change it back to percent. As far as the wifi, I cleared my cache and dalvik cache, flashed 1024 and didn't have to run the fixdataswitch again (as I ran it on 1015 already.)

I think jackpot is aware of that issue. Apparently a workaround is to long press the search key. Hopefully that helps!
I can map my search key to Google Voice Search, but it doesn't assume you want to use it in whichever app is in focus. For instance, if I have Touchdown open and I press it, it doesn't start transcribing email for me. It assumes I want to do a web search for whatever I say.

In Handcent, if you press the menu key, you're given the option to speak your text. That's a good workaround for speech-to-SMS. That or you can just key the search from the home screen and say "text xxxx", but that launches an SMS app that's native to Google Voice Search.

Guess I can live without speech-to-email for now.

Strange thing though is it works fine from the soft keyboard, just not the physical.

It is really nice to see that the DPro development is going so well. I miss my Pro's keyboard, and Jackpot's CM7 builds, that is for sure.

I just tried wifi for the first time and no dice. It will get as far as "Obtaining IP address" and then never connect. I ran the fixdataswitch command already. I also tried turning off 3g and then trying to connect; still nothing. I am trying to connect to an open network with excellent signal strength.

That sounds weird. Normally with the data switch error, it actually connects to wifi perfectly but no actua data goes through it, it just looks like it does. I think I had that issue where it wouldn't obtain an ip address and fixed it by clicking all the networks remembered on the phone and clicking forget network. It sucked to have to add the routers back to the phone but it's better than no wifi. I'd make a clockwork backup first so in case that doesn't work, you can restore it back so you won't lose your remembered networks

So is anybody seeing their screen literally jump backlight values or is that just me? Is the brightness of the screen smoothly transitioning into the next value or does it all of a sudden jump to the next value?

Dear friends, I've bought an european droid pro with froyo... I have done the root with aroot, but bootstrap doesn't go...
But I can tell you that Verizon have done a very terrific rom with our phone...
I have the American and the european version of our pro and my european froyo is very fast (such as our cgm7)..! And my verizon with froyo or ginger is very slow!! Also the gsm in verizon's pro is very poor...
And so, I would like say goodbye to you, and thank you for your supports (especially to jackpot!).
I hope that in the future also our european pro will be cyanogen...!
Bye!
I know that my English doesn't miss you...!

Issues with 1024

I have 12 droid pros here at the office. I'm testing CM7 on 3 of them at the moment. The ones that were already flashed with 1015 upgraded to 1024 fine, but the ones that were stock and I tried to load 1024 on ended up stuck in a loop of the CM7 load animation.

Other than that, keyboard service related errors start showing up once the google "Voice Search" control app is installed. As soon as I removed that app the errors stopped popping up. That was on 1015. Have not tried it on 1024 yet.

Also, I have seen CM on other devices that had wifi tethering built in in the same settings panel as USB tethering. Wondering if that's going to be in this build in the future? I've gotten the Barnacle wifi tether app to work but it's very slow and flaky. If anyone has had success with any other wifi tether apps on this build, please let me know. I couldn't get "android wifi tether" to work at all (this one: android-wifi-tether - Wireless Tether for Root Users - Google Project Hosting).

Thanks for any help and keep up the great work!

Were the ones that were stock that bootlooped upgraded to the stock gingerbread OTA before you flashed?

On 2 different units, I SBF'd them to froyo first, cleared data/cache, then updated to GB using the download you give. then i installed the bootloader, flashed 1024, and it got stuck in the loop.

You rooted, then used bootstrap to install 1024 in CWM, right? That's the same procedure I used and it worked fine.

I did a system/data/cache wipe after I SBFd, before i ran the GB update. But I didn't wipe it again before bootstrap/cm7. Think that's the issue? Do I need to clear cache every step of the way? Thanks. :)

SBF back to froyo (3.8.7) then update to the official GB. After updating, root, and bootstrap. In clockwork, go to mounts and storage, and wipe data, cache, and system. Then install and reboot and enjoy! The links to the official update and sbf are on the first page of this thread :-)
