[ROM] [6/6/2012] CM7 for the Droid Pro based on GB

Hey Jackpot, I've finally updated to a droid phone and I installed your latest rom, great work!! The only issue I am having is with my Internet, I've tried what was suggested on the first page with no luck. It says I am connected but I cannot browse and my apps cannot access the interwebs. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the reply, Jackpot. I think it might have just been a glitch. After a reboot I was able to connect to a WPA encrypted network and switch to data with no problems.

Also, +1 on the brightness jump.

Jackpot,

First and foremost, I am definitely contributing to your beer fund - I finally took the plunge, installed CM7, and it's amazing.

The only issue I have found so far is: when typing a message (be it in gmail or text), there is a marked delay before any "suggestions" appear along the bottom. Unless I take a second and stop typing and see what options come up, I only see punctuation choices on the bottom.

Anyone else experience this?

If this is going to be my only issue... I'm honestly stoked.

Many thanks Jackpot.

Are you on GSM? I've narrowed this error down to only GSM users for now. Still looking as to why only GSM users are experiencing this problem

Sweet!!

Re: Brightness, I think there was a fix put into the CM source code for this issue. I will know when I install the newest build I'm making

Edit: looks like the smooth transitioning between the brightness levels has returned with the new fix! I'll post the newest build in a couple of hours after I check to make sure everything is good

No actually, I am CDMA. I've found that the wifi and 3G both work, just intermittently and unpredictably. I will do some more testing and see if I can narrow down my issue.

I have several apps crashing:

Camera - when camera is open and the phone sleeps
Keyboard - when I try to disable it
And a few other third party apps

I will fix permissions and see if it helps.

Thanks again Jackpot

I'm having similar issues as detailed above regarding spell checking with the hardware keyboard. The soft keyboard works fine for typing, spell checking, suggestions, etc, but I think I've used that once since buying this phone.

Any way to get more support for the hardware keyboard in a future build, or extract the necessary drivers or files from the official GB build?

Unfortunately, the stock keyboard is blur based and cannot be extracted. There are other keyboards on the market (I use smart keyboard pro and swear by it) but we can hope that ICS supports a hard keyboard and suggestions with it

Haven't tried Smart Keyboard before but looks like it should do the trick. Just have to shrink the key height to retain screen real estate. Thanks for the suggestion!

Smart Keyboard does the trick. Don't have the microphone button still, but works much better for predictive text and spell checking.

I like it for the autotext as well. You can customize a certain chunk to letters to become a phrase just like a blackberry does

I use go keyboard. I found smart keyboard, at least the version I was using months ago, gave me issues when it came to inputing numbers into text boxes.

I don't think this is related to the rom, but is anyone having trouble getting their phone to connect to the computer?

I have downloaded the drivers from the Motorola website... no dice.
