Just restarted after installing the motoconnect software from xdadev. Plugged the phone in, and the device driver install failed. Grr.

That MotoOneClick is the one I have...I'll give it a try in a second, when MH finishes, and I restart....AGAIN.

OK, seems to be working. I got a MTP USB Device FAILED, but I ran MotoOneClick and it found the phone. It's running now. I put the other files on when I first posted today, before I tried the first time. Stay tuned...

Step 2 is done...phone rebooting. 109pm

110pm, got the "Phone is rooted" message. Off to install bootstrap

Do I run Bootstrap from the computer, or the phone? If phone, how do I find it?



Sometimes...I swear. If I turn off my fear and moron options, I get out of my own way. Found it on the phone, running it now. It's installed...

OK, I tried to reboot to recovery (power, r+m) got to triangle with android robot, but couldn't get any further. Just did a battery pull, going to try again. Am I doing the reboot to recovery right?

Remember first thing you do in recovery is make a backup and after that's complete wipe data, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, (advanced options) then flash CM7 then flash gapps

I can't get past the triangle with the droid. Just got there again, and nothing is working. Someone said push @ key, but that's not working either. I haven't installed gapps yet...I think I need to go do that.

No no, that's stock recovery you need to download ROM manager from the market and flash clockwork recover then choose to reboot to recovery

I haven't installed gapps yet, but my market works fine. Do I need to install gapps?


ALSO: I'M NOT FINDING THE DROID PRO IN THE PHONE MODEL LIST? Pick Bionic, Milestone? Pick what?

You are still stock rooted and the market is still there, choose Droid X or Droid X 2nd init

OK, just flashed Droid X, and am rebooting to recovery. Did the root fail if I'm still stock rooted? What am I doing wrong?

And it just rebooted normally, not into recovery...WTF?

no its fine you are rooted, rooting just alows you to be able to change things to be able to flash custom ROMs etc.
