[ROM] [6/6/2012] CM7 for the Droid Pro based on GB

To the people with back light issues, if you will read back a few pages this has been discussed

BAD ASS X

I assume you've looked into the backlight settings and played around with them? Right now I just have everything disabled in the menu CyanogenMod settings/Display/Automatic backlight and have no backlight issues.

Ok this is driving me NUTS. You know how there's a setting for Wifi to automatically come on every time you connect to the charger... WHERE is that setting? I enabled it and now I've changed my mind (due to connectivity issues) but I can't find the damn setting anywhere! I have literally gone through every single settings screen and can't find it.

Nevermind, found it. It's in the power control widget settings, i.e. you have to go to your homescreen, longpress and add the power control widget so that its options come up, it's in there. Those settings should really be more easily accessible...

I have tried playing with all settings, but the one that would make it go back on is to disable the automatic brightness setting or changing the manual brightness. By doing that the keyboard would go on, but once the screen turns off so does the backlight and wouldn't come back on! A few pages back someone suggested to use some program called keyboard backlight control which I tried but didn't help!!
This problem only started right after flashing 1125g.zip which is the latest update. I've never had this problem before that

noobie needs help installing cm7 on droid pro 2.3.3

i have tried alot of times and i still get stuck.after i zip from sd card and reboot it just goes to motorola sign and hangs up and i have to reset factory setting and sbf in order for the phone to boot. so my understanding is that after going into recovery and zip from sd card i am going to unzip 1125G.zip and reboot is that the file 1125.zip i should be using?

by the why i am have droid pro on gingerbread 2.3.3 kernel 2.6.32.9 the phone is rooted. can you help me or point me the right direction.also what is the difference between this method and the one on rom manger where you can down load cm7 from the app

thank you

I never made it back to this forum to post, but yeah, the backlight program didn't work for me either... The best I can do is add the 'backlight' button to the pulldown and flip the settings between full brightness and back to auto... it'll stay on until you turn off the screen. Obviously not a fix at all, just what I've had to resort to doing (basically what you did, just put that setting in a convenient spot)

So i broke down and installed the apex rom. It appears to have both the Data/Wifi working properly on GSM as well as the working backlight. I'm prefer CM7 but I need working data more due to work email and google voice. It also has wireless tether built in which is missing from this cm7 build (at least I couldnt' find it)

Back on topic regarding the keyboard item earlier, It appears that Smart Keyboard Trial in the market supports the droid pro so you use that for the keyboard and it's hidden on portrait but visible on landscape. At least, it is on apex... I didn't get a chance to try it on CM7 because I also had the problem in CM7 with settings staying checked (and yeah, I had fixed permissions and wiped dalvik cache) and so i couldn't get another keyboard selected. Anyway, worth a try if the scrunched keyboard bothers you.

Yeah, it didn't work for me either. . . and I tried everything as well. It seems that I started having the keyboard backlight problem at around the same time I started having wifi disconnect issues (CDMA). The only thing that fixed it was to do a clean reinstall. Now I'm afraid to reboot at all, as that also seems to be when the problems started (yes I had the wifi turned off, and yes I've tried the fixdataswitch mod). I'll have to wait until the weekend so I have time to play with it if it stops working again.

Also, Jackpot, I've got an extra Pro at my disposal if you have any builds you want tested - PM me if you're not too busy with the Fire (if not, that's cool too). BTW: I know it says it, but I'm not a noob, I just didn't used to post. CM7 just has me interested enough to go back to tweaking my Pro and keeping up with everyone's fun. Great work on this. Knowing that you are working on a Fire build has me thinking about picking one up.

found my problem

i did this and it work its weird. everything works good but for the app store and internet the wifi says its connected but no internet.

Open the cm7 rom zip with winrar, navigate to the updater-script file located in META-INF\com\google\android, double click on it, it will ask what program to use, choose notepad or notepad++, delete the first three lines of code (listed below) , close the file, it will ask to save so click on save, then it will ask you if you wish to update it in the archieve, choose yes. then you're done. takes about a minute. if that.

package_extract_file("system/etc/releaseutils/check_kernel", "/tmp/check_kernel");
set_perm(0, 0, 0777, "/tmp/check_kernel");
assert(run_program("/tmp/check_kernel") == 0);

i found it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?p=1719821
And it work.

also i was able to fix the wifi issues just went to rom manager went to fix permissions

Is anyone else having problems with touchtone double entries? I use Webex for work frequently and it's next to impossible to enter a meeting ID number without a double-tone. To see what I mean, start a call, then pull up the dial pad. Once it's answered, hit a key. Do you hear two tones like an echo or just one? Unfortunately, without GSM support (global traveler), the dialer issue, and the non-functioning Wifi tether, I'm going to have to SBF and go back to a stock ROM I think after more than a month on 1025. :(
