[ROM] [6/6/2012] CM7 for the Droid Pro based on GB

i did this and it work its weird. everything works good but for the app store and internet the wifi says its connected but no internet.

Open the cm7 rom zip with winrar, navigate to the updater-script file located in META-INF\com\google\android, double click on it, it will ask what program to use, choose notepad or notepad++, delete the first three lines of code (listed below) , close the file, it will ask to save so click on save, then it will ask you if you wish to update it in the archieve, choose yes. then you're done. takes about a minute. if that.

package_extract_file("system/etc/releaseutils/check_kernel", "/tmp/check_kernel");
set_perm(0, 0, 0777, "/tmp/check_kernel");
assert(run_program("/tmp/check_kernel") == 0);

i found it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?p=1719821
And it work.

also i was able to fix the wifi issues just went to rom manager went to fix permissions

This worked great. I made these changes, did a clean reflash, and the wifi (and backlight, btw) issues are cleared up.

I was running APEX for a couple days, and was able to flash straight from APEX as well, without any issues. Just made sure to do a factory reset before flashing. Easy.

I'm having issues where my data randomly disconnects :(

I did have this issues on stock GB as well, though, so maybe it's my phone.

Go into call settings either under the regular settings or under cyanogen settings and disable audible tones. That fixes the double tones.

Did you flash it on top of the current build 1125g?

Back on topic regarding the keyboard item earlier, It appears that Smart Keyboard Trial in the market supports the droid pro so you use that for the keyboard and it's hidden on portrait but visible on landscape. At least, it is on apex... I didn't get a chance to try it on CM7 because I also had the problem in CM7 with settings staying checked (and yeah, I had fixed permissions and wiped dalvik cache) and so i couldn't get another keyboard selected. Anyway, worth a try if the scrunched keyboard bothers you.

Nice, that does fix the issue of the scrunched keyboard and now works properly in landscape. However, I'm forced to disable word suggestions because it introduces the same problem that the Verizon GB update did; i.e. that when the word suggestion ribbon pops up, you have to "back out" of it first if you want to back out of an app. For example, you're in the messaging app typing and want to back out while still typing and the suggestion ribbon is out. You have to press back one extra time in order to close the ribbon before you close the app. Very annoying.

For those having problems with the keyboard backlight not working,
I just reflashed with 1125g, wiped data/cache/dalvik cache and its working fine now. I usually restore all my data with titanium backup, but this time I didn't resore any settings! When I did restore the settings/cyanogenmod settings the keyboard backlight stopped working. So I just restored everything else besides the settings and it seems to be working fine now

I had that error once. What you need to do if that happens is to make a backup, temporarily flash back to an older backup, do a titanium backup of the settings, return to the latest backup and restore the settings but choose data only

Is anyone else having problems with touchtone double entries? I use Webex for work frequently and it's next to impossible to enter a meeting ID number without a double-tone. To see what I mean, start a call, then pull up the dial pad. Once it's answered, hit a key. Do you hear two tones like an echo or just one? Unfortunately, without GSM support (global traveler), the dialer issue, and the non-functioning Wifi tether, I'm going to have to SBF and go back to a stock ROM I think after more than a month on 1025. :(

My phone is doing this. Anyone know how to fix?

low volume issue

Is anyone else getting the notoroius low in-call volume bug? Builds 1024 and 1125G both have the problem on my phone. I've re-flashed, wiped data, cache and davlik twice. I have to enable speaker phone to hear incoming calls.

Appreciate the suggestion, but did not work. I see the app requesting Root access each time I engage my phone, but the backlight on the keyboard remains off. Any other ideas?

Best!

Keyboard Backlight Control from the market will force the keyboard light on when your screen is on. Working great for me on stock GB so far.

Odd issue happened last night: WiFi stopped connecting on the Pro only (wife's phone). My Incredible running CM7, our iPad, and our Laptop were fine. I tried rebooting the Pro, forgetting/reconnecting to the router, but no go. It'd connect fine through 3G, but not over WiFi. Any ideas?

I've had that happen to me before. The fix potential fix is to delete the file that stores your wifi passwords and stuff. I'd make a backup before you do anything so in case this doesn't fix it, you won't lose your wifi passwords and whatnot. The file is /data/misc/wifi/ wpa_supplicant.conf

Do you have root explorer?
