[ROM] [6/6/2012] CM7 for the Droid Pro based on GB

I've been happily using CM7 on my Pro for about a week now. (i had been running it on my nook for months). I love the speed, efficiency, and look of the build. Bravo Jackpot. But, there are a few bugs that are annoying me.

I've gone through this thread and couldn't find any solutions. Here are my issues:

1. I cannot send or receive mms. My wifi/ 3g data switching is good for the most part, but I cannot seem to send mms when on wifi-- there seems to be no way for the 3g to turn on while wifi is active. Any solution for this?

2. Camera is unable to focus when recording video. The picture is always blurry and the camera does not zoom.

3. Unable to take screenshots via shootme. SU gives root access but application doesn't work.

4. Edit: I just rebooted the phone and my automatic screen backlight stopped working. Also my keyboard backlight stopped working. This was a problem at first, but I followed a suggestion in this thread to wipe data -- I do not want to do that again. And no I did not use titanium backup.

Please help!

Hey all,
I had a question related to battery life on CM7. I took a look through the 73 pages of this thread a while back but I don't recall seeing anything about the problem I've been experiencing. I've noticed random intervals of 10-30% battery life drops ex. 60%-->30% 40%-->20% is a more common one. I have calibrated the battery and wiped battery stats accordingly but still notice this issue. Has anyone else been experiencing this? Did I not calibrate the battery correctly?

I'm going to attach 2 pictures of my battery life so you can see. I'll outline the steps to reproduce the extreme battery drain I'm experiencing. I turned data off on the phone overnight. When I woke up I checked my email and turned Google Music on for about 40 minutes. Some of the music was already cache'd on the phone, so it wasn't 40 minutes of streaming. In that 40 minutes the battery plummeted rapidly as you'll see in the picture. The phone does seem last longer in the <15% range at least compared to stock. I did notice a decrease in battery life on stock when running Google Music but never this drastic. Does anyone know what Mediaserver is? In the hour that I have now been running Google Music the CPU total is 27 minutes and 36 seconds.

Thanks,

Are you charging the phone from the wall or from a USB/PC?

When I charge mine from the USB on my work computer the battery will jump wildly and give me obviously incorrect readouts.

Nope all from the wall charger. I've been using a Blackberry travel charger because my original charger's plug is spotty.

I'll let you know the results.

ozo012, I have been using this ROM since it was in early development and I have not experienced this issue. In fact, I get outstanding battery life using this ROM compared to stock. I usually can get 2 days out of my battery. I do have the extended one so that does help. Is it possible that your battery is shooting craps? Or maybe you could try reflashing the ROM.

I'm beginning to think it is Google Music or a corrupt file on my SD card. I noticed Mediaserver is using a crazy amount of battery. Even more than it was on stock (which was horrible). Going to try to not use Google Music and see what is going on. Worse comes to worse I'll wipe out the SD card try it then and then reflash if nothing else.

So, my Pro is still FCing all the time. Doesn't do it fatally or anything, but apps always FC on my wife (it's her phone). Has there been a new version of this build, or is there another build that is more stable?

Thank you for the CM 7. I rooted and installed via the page 1 instructions. Running fine. Except Torch ( Who Cares ). Thanks to the Developer of this software.

WIFI while roaming

I've been running CM7 on my Droid Pro for a couple months now. When I'm roaming globally with international data off, I am unable to obtain a DSN server through WIFI. This happens when connected to both CDMA and GSM networks. I can connect to programs like Skype, but can't use Google voice, Gmail, Browser, ect. Applications like SetDNS won't work unless I turn on the international data. The only solution I've found is turning on the roaming data then switching to Airplane mode and rebooting. Then I have to leave airplane mode on and turn on WIFI. This let's me get data, but obviously no calls or texts. Sometimes the phone won't enter airplane mode without rebooting as well. Has anyone seen these problems? I've already tried running fixdataswitch.

Had the same problem in Denmark earlier this week. I made a Nandroid backup of a rooted GB build of the stock ROM that I flash back to anytime I go international. This CM7 build works well when you're on your home carrier but it really isn't optimal for global use.

How to install CM7 on Droid Pro - the last steps?

So I followed the instructions for installing CM7 on my Droid Pro, flashed to the SBF twice, and upgraded to GB. Now where I'm stuck is that when I download the CM7 file, rename it "update.zip" and place on the root of my SD card, when I try to install from it STOCK Recovery mode, it'll always say:

E: failed to verify whole-file signature
E: signature verification failed
Installation aborted.

What did I do wrong? Did I rename the file incorrectly or something?
