7-7-10 [ROM] Froyo Kangerade 5.0.9 *source built, 9 themes, bug fixes, many features*

I was really loving this rom, had the green and then the blue. My battery life turned horrible and now pegshot and my launcher dock doesn't work until i reinstall. then i turn the phone off and they don't work again. it sucks about the apps, but the battery drain was the last straw.

Do you have those apps on your SD?

OK, first off you have to remember that you are rooted and messing with bleeding-edge software. Things will go wrong, so patience is required. The Market will be slow when you first load it after clearing cache. Just force close it and reopen. It's often normal the second time. You may have to reboot *right* after clearing Market cache. It might just work perfectly. Remember, this is hacked, rooted, experimental, leaked, bleeding-edge stuff we're all doing to our phones. If you want simple, you're gonna have to go back to stock.

I have had this ROM with NexTheme loaded since last night and took it off the charger at 7 am this morning. It is not noon and I am at 60% battery with moderate use. Sure wish battery life was better on these roms. I am running chevy's ulv 1.1 kernel set to powersave.

I'm using the Keylime Pie Theme of this ROM and I went 36 hours without charging and even then it was only at 20%...with 'average' use:icon_ banana:

This is what it looks like with LauncherPro. At least on mine. Only the main screen but you get the gist.

I am running the Droid X theme of JRummy's Froyo rom and I have only used 20% of my battery over 7 hours. I unplugged my phone at12 noon and it is 7:21pm and I have only dropped to 80% battery life. I have not had any phones calls during that time but I have surfed the web a few times for 3-5 minutes at a time. I sent out and received about 20 texts and the same number of e-mails. As well as I streamed Pandora for about an hour while at my pool. I am really loving this rom so far!!!

I am also using Chevy's ULV 1200mhz kernel.

Does anyone know what actual files are changed to make the text on the buttons white for the x theme? I made some mods to my framework-res and now when I try and do the update.zip for the white text it changes all my modifications. Any help would be great.

I need help with the dreaded Maps...using the Blueberry 5.0.9 theme - just did it about 1/2 hour ago from ROM manager, so it hopefully has all the latest fixes in it...Maps icon says 'this application is not installed'..downloading/updating from the Market says 'installation unsuccessful'..
I've tried both the terminal commands mentioned back around page 10-11 or so and have done the force Market close/clear data and cache and immediately rebooted...
still 'installation unsuccessful'...
Any more ideas?
What is it about this one app that makes it such a thorn to deal with?

Posted this in the official help thread, but I'm gonna stick it here too in case someone can help...I'm loving the new 5.0.9 update. Super responsive and fast. Thank you so much Jrummy!! I'm rocking the Nex-Theme, and I can't be the only person bothered by the HTC market icon. If this has been discussed elsewhere...sorry. How the heck can I change this to anything that doesn't say HTC. I've tried Ninjamorph and the market completely disappears when I apply it. Please help. I love this ROM and theme otherwise.

The only way to change the color for text on buttons is to recompile framework from source. I tried manually hex editing it first and I couldn't get my phone to boot.

You can try the manual hex edit (maybe you will have more luck):

open framework-res.apk
pull resources.arsc
Rename resources.arsc to resources.arsc.xml
open in hex editor
search for:
08 00 00 01 03 00 06 01 AF 00 01 01 08 00 00 11 11 00 00 00 D4 00 01 01 08 00 00 01 04 00 08 01
change it to:
08 00 00 01 01 00 06 01 AF 00 01 01 08 00 00 11 11 00 00 00 D4 00 01 01 08 00 00 01 04 00 08 01
save and close
rename to resources.arsc
hope your phone boots after making the change
Hopefully enjoy your white text on black buttons.

I am on 5.0.9 with DX theme and cannot reproduce the issue; camera takes pix and 'corder takes view, with no FCs. Maybe try a fresh install with wipes of data, cache, and system?

Yeah that's what I was talking about, thanks. I don't really like the icons on the bottom of the home screen though with LauncherPRO, so is it possible to turn that off and have the regular bottom (the dots for the home screen pages, phone icon, launcher icon, browser icon, dots for the home screen pages)?
