Mine was too small for my eyes, same as you, so I found this widget called 'Battery Widget' and just leave it on my home screen and it is a good size, easy to see with that. It also reads 10%. One reason I originally got it back then too was because JRummy still had his reading 20% increments until recently.

You can see it in the upper left region:

You guys can just rename /data/local/bootanimation.zip to bootanimation.old, then move the one from your SD Card to /data/local/ with your favorite file manager. I used Root Explorer, but I believe that Astro can do it too.

I know you're trying to let JRummy know that the script isn't working, but there are workarounds. Think outside the ROM. :)

Thanks for the help, wasn't really aware of how to do this previously. Now I know.

I tried the normal bootanimation.zip and it didn't work, then I extracted and tried the bootanimation.zip that was extracted to /bootanimation/system/media/ and put it where you said in /data/local/

Love this rom! Everything is working almost perfect. Except...I want rotten apple, dangit! Been working at it all day. I had it working on the last jrummy rom.

-I tried the above and my \data\local\ folder is an empty directory. According to Jrummy changelog thats where the bootanimation is supposed to be. Plus I am unable to move the file that is in \system\media\bootanimation. Please help.

My sister is coming in a couple days with her iphone and wanted her to see my cool rotten apple.

Just find your rotten apple one (browse inside all the bootanimation zip files until you see the pics of rotten apple), then use Root Explorer and copy/paste it manually into the /data/local folder. You may have to push the R/W button near the top in Root Explorer to let you paste it in. But make sure you click it back to R/O when your done. It is just a toggle button that lets you write to folders. This whole procedure takes less than 5 mins if you already have Root Explorer installed.

I love this ROM, but I'm having the same problem. I can't get the boot animation to change. I used root explorer to copy the new file over the old, and changed it's permissions. But on a re-boot, it's still the same "droid" boot sequence.

Is it me, or the ROM?

I had the same problem.. I used the root explorer method and the Kang scripts.. couldn't change it..

is it just me or does the droid x live wallpaper laggy as hell....I would just be happy with the same wallpaper withe the red eye minus the live part

Anybody get the white text color change to work for all the text??? It changed everything but my ongoing notifications???

Jrummy... I left a post on that thread too, can you help......

google maps

I have had this issue since Froyo. I have done a brief search. Anyone know the fix for the unsuccessful google maps update? I uninstalled using scripts and now I have no google maps because it wont install from the market. I can restore but I sure would like to update too.

Using the terminal method worked for me:

Download Terminal Emulator from the market, install it and give it superuser rights. Open it and type the following (you have to use the slide-out keyboard for this task):

$ export PATH=/data/local/bin:$PATH
$su
# mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
# rm /system/app/Maps.apk
rm failed for /system/app/Maps.apk, No such file or directory
# cd /system/bin
# sh pm uninstall com.google.android.apps.maps
Success
# mount -o remount,ro -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
# sync
#

You should then be able to download and install Maps from the market. Good luck!

Yeah, you can't install maps because it is installed as a system app already. You must uninstall that one first.

Do these commands in a terminal that has ability to get su permissions:

su
mountsys
rm system/app/Maps.apk
pm uninstall com.google.android.apps.maps
unmountsys

Then after that, it should be able to install from the market. If it still doesn't, then find the actual maps apk file (latest one - Google for it) and install it manually on your phone using Root Explorer. It should install. Just click and hold down on the apk file until you get options menu and select 'install'
