I'm getting the notification for an update again, even after allowing it to install. I just ran a nandroid backup through ROM Manager/Clockworkmod recovery, but that shouldn't change anything.

Can the build.prop be modified to make this go away?

Accept it a let it install again. The installation will abort. It may be the second update they talked about coming soon.

build.prop wont stop it. just accept and it will go away. i havent had it come back since i accepted and it failed.

I accepted again and it is gone for now. Hope it stays gone.

Flashing and wiping hasn't solved my kernel problems, and I know for a fact the phone can handle the speeds. Had some minor problems with ud6 and they are worst with ud7. I will give it another day then I might have to be done with this.

Ud simply seems to have compatibility problems with some kernels, seems "wipe data and cache" is the standard reply to everything, but I mostly see bugs being the culprit.

Loving UD7 so far but i seem to be getting worse reception than normal. I tried to go into the hidden menu of ##PROGRAM to see if i have ERVC B (I dont remember the exact name of it). but it doesnt work. it just says my call cant be completed as dialed. any help?

Yeah I figured so...lol
I really liked how smooth, stable, & fast UD ran, so I really would like to narrow down what's causing this for my Droid/ I know it's not the Droid itself since it 'can' run far cooler on other ROMs.
I may try with SetCPU disabled...

did u do a full wipe?? thats the only thing i can think of or just leave the stock kernal on his rom at 800mhz which is fast anyways

try the a clean install, but in sprecovery reboot to recovery, and adb to the phone. then type

format: BOOT

give the boot a few wipes bc after alot of kernels flashed sometimes it needs a good boot wipe to run smooth again. i format boot everytime i flash a rom.

in clock work recovery just go into the partition menu and select format boot.

hope it helps.
We'll see... you obviously are referreing to having P3Droid kernels installed... but that still doesn't alleviate the higher than normal CPU temps that I seem to be experiencing. Worth a try at this point. Thanks

Quick Q neil... where did you download UD7 from?... from this thread's link or from UD's site?

UD's site.
I initially thought they were slightly different since one of the sites lists the size as 78.4 MB, but they in reality are both 74.8 MBs...

I plan on reloading UD7 after my phone gets recharged...

If I want to use a higher speed kernel will it oc it with a script or do I need to go back to using something like Set CPU?

Well installing cvpcs's LV 1GHz kernel definitely made the difference in running temps... goes down to 24c when sitting idle, and while still goign up to the high 40c's, it is running cooler at long periods of high loads as well.

A weird bug came up afterwards though, I tried looking thru some of my pics in gallery and it keeps loading the wrong pics....:icon_eek:
I did try reinstalling UD7, but then Titaniumed back my apps and it again had that issue with Gallery and the Picture Frame Widget...

formatting the boot partition really doesn't do anything if I'm reinstalling the ROM from scratch since I'm overwriting with the ROM's stock boot partition....
Anyways since I now know that I can get it running way cooler with cvpcs's kernel, I may completely start over with UD7 and restart from scratch... 'maybe', since it is such humbug to reload everything all over again...

The fix zip in op will fix icon issues bc that's how I fixed it. Just delete what u don't wanna change from the fix zip. Glad to hear about the kernel though.

And formatting has helped me before, couldn't boot so formated then reinstalled rom and it booted.

Also not talking about p3 kernels. I use chevys. Wiping cache and data does a lot too. Can fix a lot of things.

But glad u got it all figured out. Atleast now if I hear this issue again I can recommend cvpcs's kernels to help.

The kernel included in the rom is set up to 800 by default. But to have more control and uses higher kernels, yes u would need setcpu. Can set a lot to save battery life with setcpu. Awesome app!

Has anyone come up with a way to get UD to install my applications when it syncs? This will be a deal breaker...I'm not paying for Titanium Backup!

Edit: I can tell from the start how fast this ROM is. But I need my apps! Any suggestions? I just downloaded the ROM like 30 min ago, so I definitely got the "new" version.

I guess i picked a bad night to try this rom. im having the market issue too. tryed clearing data no luck.

Don't let the market problems keep you from not ever flashing UD guys, its well worth it, and check out the UD IRC channel #blackdroidmod

UD7 is definitely worth the try... was running extremely good for me except for the higher running temps. And the couple issues I ran into might very well be from switching the kernels far too many times... so most likely I'll make that effort to reinstall this from scratch again, but this time installing cvpcs's kernel from the beginning...:)

That being said... Sapphire is by no means a slouch, nor is BB even though it's very Vanilla...they both have proven to me that they run smooth, stable, fast, & cool.... but UD seems to have the most potential for how I'd like my ROM to be running and customized...
