[ROM] [Alpha] Ics4Bionic 01-25-2012

if you mean next time you go to safe system enabled then yes, what i did was wipe data factory reset, wipe cache, under advance wipe dalvik, under mounts and storage format system and it worked, u really cant mess it up if your in safe system u always have your backup.
What do you think happen that time? My backup should still be on my card in safe strap so unless I change my primaryrom I dont need to make another backup. It will mahe its own other backup next time I go to safe strap correct.

Idk what happened to be honest the same thing happened to me and I just kept messing with it till I figured it out lol
But the back up u made is fine if you wanna change ur primary rom u have to do it in stock recovery or unistall safe strap install bootstrap then just change roms like normal. It only backs up when ur switching from safe system disabled to enabled thats why it takes a while but not when ur using quick toggle if u want a permeate back up u have to do it manually like u already did

Your better off doing it the way you are supposed to It seems totake longer the other way

I dont see a way to flash a primary rom in safestrap I was able to get into stock recovery and I should be able to flash a backup from there but I cant see anyway to flash a primary rom unless like eap369 says delete faststrap and install bootstrap again Am I missing something

I messed around a bit more and found if you move the rom you want to flash to your ext sd you should then be able to flash it as a primary rom is that correct?

You can only flash safe ROM in SafeStrap. You have to reinstall bootstrap to flash primary ROM

I may just have to try this! I am assuming the instructions for installing safestrap are on the first page of this thread correct? As for .893...if you were rooted BEFORE you upgraded you should still be rooted. I am forever rooted. However I did NOT use the .894 update yet since I hear that one will break root...

I myself am rooted and running Liberity 1.0 ROM on stock 5.5.886 and forever root was applied prior. I tried to install the OTA an hour or so ago and it says that the install failed. Don't know why it wouldn't install just thought I would share.

I know this isn't the right thread for this but just a warning to those using Safestrap...I STRONGLY suggest you do NOT use the Quick Toggle!!!! I was in a hurry today to switch to ICS to show a coworker & decided to use Quick Toggle & did NOT save data. When I was finished with ICS I switched BACK using Quick Toggle to unsafe mode. When my stock rom booted I was at the WELCOME SCREEN as if the phone were new! All my apps were still there BUT it was asking for my account information again! Luclily I made a backup last night when I first installed Safestrap and I just flashed that.

Maybe I didn't read the Safestrap information carefully enough but I think it should be repeated & bolded & in caps warning that this will happen with Quick Toggle. I don't blame the developer or anyone here. It was my choice to use the "faster method"...But faster isn't necessarily better!!

I tried a bunch of stuff first you cant due a whole lot in safe I had to get back to unsafe I to had backup Thats why the video tells you to do it I guess lol

I know it says it's "dangerous" but does it tell you exactly what happens if you use it? I don't remember seeing that much of a description? My own fault for not considering "dangerous" for what it is...LOL!

Putting your custom roms on to ext is ideal, i have had zero problems

I didnt try it and DH said only way is to install bootstrap again but it did look like it could work,You can only wipe data and cache but I read on one of the forums that is all you really need to wipe. He went a big thing on how when you wipe data it wipes everything if you dont believe that its like saying its lying and not doing what it says its doing. I dunno
