Android 2.1 Update Rolls Out For Motorola Droid!

no you can get it. Once you try to install it, it will block it. There is a way to stop it from prompting you though.
I was running droid mod with smoked glass theme but went back to stock today to get the update. I have to say. I am so glad I did, it runs so much better and so much more stable

So i got my update at 3 am this morning. So pleased with it. i ran out and grabbed all of the free live wallpapers i could find. Odd question but has google earth shown back up or have we heard where it went cause i cant see it in the market. Also i wish the live wallpapers worked like the live wallpapers for windows. You could pick almost any vid and just set it to be a live wallpaper.

Take the time to read the post and maybe you will have your answer. There are 200,000 being released every day at 11:59 Eastern Time until every droid has them. There is no particular order or anything so they are pushing it out to 200,000 random droids every day. We have NO WAY of knowing when you will get the update so either be patient and wait for it or update it manually.
Id like to know how to stop it from prompting me........anyway droidmod runs pretty stable for me.....but my wifes phone running 2.1, after some initial problems, is much smoother and faster in comparison to 2.0.1.......almost enough to make me go back....but really I'm excited to see what a rom built with this update as the base will do.

We should write a song about how the OTA update is completely random and and had no rhyme or reason to who gets it. It would be like a fun little jingle so not to be insulting but it would also be very clear in it's message. Then when someone asks where's my update the forum would play the song automatically. Do we have the technology to accomplish this. I am joking by the way

my brother just bought his droid yesterday and it immediatey prompted him to update once he activated it. my droid is rooted and was running 2.1 already and still got prompted to do the ota update. it didnt brick my phone although it obviously not still rooted. live wallpapers working great. Only 3 home screens, drawer is the same as on 2.01 but other than that it running just great for me. best part is my keyboard backlight is working perfectly again. Just be patient everyone, its here, just on its way to everyone!!

Are you guys that haven't gotten the OTA 2.1 update checking Settings--> About Phone --> System Updates - and then tapping on "System Updates" to check if there is one?
I am rooted running UD 9.0 and when I do it, it says there is an Android Update 2.1 that is 15 MB and give me the option to download.
Note: There is also more information on the download screen that tells a little about the update.
Wouldn't hurt to take a look if you haven't already.
