Android 2.1 Update Rolls Out For Motorola Droid!

GarciaFan.....I do have questions

1. Any lag/slow performance in texts fields?
Not that I've noticed, keep in mind I've had the update all of 30 min or so.

2.How do the live walls run?
Way cool. I like the galaxy and magic smoke the best. Magic smoke actually is a group with different settings. You don't pick the colors and such from a dropdown or anything, you just click a change button and it rotates through them.

3.How does Pinch to Zoom in native browser run?
Seems to work great. I just uninstalled dolphin, because of this.

4.How would you rate the overall performance? 10 being excellent.
I haven't noticed any change in performance from before. I always put in an 8-9 range before.

5.Why did you give it the above rating?

I really wanted a couple more home screens, but that's my only complaint.

No FC's here with Helix and it runs very fast. Best out of the choices we have.

I just don't get it. It seems so simple. I guess I'm going to have to use a third-party home replacement and just live with all the FC's and slowness.

Helix Launcher is NOT slow nor does it Force Close and its for NONROOTED droids

+1 Using it stock/unrooted and it works great. I am at 5 screens, but it goes up to 7. Also allows you to dock up to 4 icons at the bottom of the screen which will appear on all screens. Great launcher!

Hey there are some programs out there like winhex which will recover deleted files try downloading one and mounting your USB and see if you can recover files by *.zip.

If i can get a hold of the update.zip when my unrooted roommate gets it, if i apply it will that remove my root access?

CK I know you said this thread root discussions are not allowed. But please either allow this particular question or move it to hack section. Please do not delete. I want to know if 2.1 is rootable.

Pilot I have to delete rooting questions. There is a whole subforum for those questions to be asked and it's not fair to those that come here to be subjected to the relentless rooting questions/comments.

We'd do the same in the hacking section with non-rooters.

We have sections set up for this very issue. They can start a thread in the Rescue Squad area or the Hacking section. Not a problem.

But under no conditions are rooting questions allowed in the "stock" 2.1 thread.

NO ONE HAS IT. God. IF someone had it and didn't accidentally upgrade, it would be posted. Saying that clogs up this forums for actual questions and stuff. When someone has it, you will hear about it.

I don't think it would need to be. The update would revert it back to stock anyways.
