I called my local Verizon Stores.
Hillside, LaGrange Willowbrook, Hodgkins, Downers Grove, Chicago Ridge, and Bolingbrook
Hillside said it is rolling out today the rep quoted an email he received.
LaGrange said it is rolling out today
Willowbrook said "no" not today.
Downers Grove said: He didn't know, last he heard it was "right around the corner", his store has not received confirmation of any kind.
Chicago Ridge is confirming that it is rolling out today. She just read an update to me over the phone.
Bolingbrook is confirming that it is rolling out today.
So, there you have it. Take it for what it's worth. I called the above stores, and that is the information I was given.
I guess it is really rolling out...
.
So far, I have called 10 stores in my area. Above, in the list you will see the only two "no" answers I have got. I have called 4 more since then. The reps I have spoken to have all read to me from the official release document they received.
If it's a hoax, it's a damned clever one. I know most of the time, reps don't always know what is going on, but this is the first time I have seen this kind of consistency, any other time, I probably would have gotten 10 different answers.
Could it be a hoax, yes, it could. We have a discrepancy in emails, we have April Fool's Day approaching, and silence from VZW and Motorola. In the Information Age, creating, and passing on mis, or dis-information is not has hard as it would sound. Could someone have hacked into Verizon's network and fabricated this? Of course, if some hackers can steal trade secrets, millions of credit card numbers, or what have you, then creating a fraudulent internal document would be child's play for some of them. I wouldn't know how they would do it, I just know it can be done.
Is it real? Is it a hack job? Who knows... we'll find out in a few days.
Just remember, 10 stores, 8 confirmed the rollout via reading from internal documentation....
