are you sure? I could have swore it said that it could be updated. It wasn't a secret that we would get 2.1, it's just no one knew when

Can we get the URL that way?

Of course this would be BEFORE you apply the update. I think you can trigger the update check if you advance your clock by a day since I think it checks every 24 hours.

I can agree on that, the phone now says upgradable to 2.1 on the sales pitch. VZ wouldn't put that out there unless ...

Hello it proves the update is coming. They would not put that on the Official verizon site as a perk if it was not going to be made available.

I'm pretty sure it said 2.0, I'm pretty sure that if they put 2.1 before it was actually available and people bought it because it said 2.1 was available, those people would complain and isn't that also false advertising?

I think it is out of stock because many people waited for the nexus one to come out on Verizon on 3/23, so when it didn't people just bought the droid. Seems reasonable.
